Quick Installation Guide
Read this document to get instructions from installing the hardware to get connected with the device quickly.

Before Getting Started Before setting up this product. We would like to list those important notes as following. Please read those notes carefully before proceeding. ‧
To use all functions of the device properly, loading a file onto this connected hard drive is required. Please see “Load Firmware Extensions” in user’s manual in CD for instruction.

The PNMD supports Windows 2000/XP only. If you are using Windows 98, 98se or ME, you should: 1. Assign a static IP for your PC within 192.168.1.2~255. 2. Connect your PC to the device directly with an RJ-45 cable. 3. Open your browser. To open folders connecting to the device, fill in “\\i-drive” in the “Address” blank and press enter. To open the management interface, fill in “i-drive” in the “Address” blank and press enter. 4. Enter the management interface. Configure the IP address of this product to be compatible to your LAN. 5. Configure the network settings of your PC as your original settings. 6. Connect your PC and this product to your LAN respectively.

Hardware installation 1.
Lie the device down as the following picture. Please make sure that the device is oriented correctly..

Place your SATA Hard drive on the HD holder. Slide the HD the horizontal way to connect the HD with the connector on the device.

Secure your hard disk with the screws in the package.
6.
Place the cover back onto the device and fasten the screws.
7.
Connect the device to your LAN with the RJ-45 cable.
8.
Connect your e-SATA device to the eSATA port. (for the model with e-SATA/USB ports only)
9.
Attach the power cord to the power adapter. Connect the connector end to the device and the plug end to an outlet.
10. Press the power button on the front panel.

Connecting to the Device For users to launch the device easily, we provide the convenient PNMD software, which detects this device automatically in your LAN. Please refer to the following procedures to proceed. Installing the PNMD This PNMD program helps users to get accessed to those NAS in your LAN. Please follow the instructions to install the software. 1.
Insert the CD-Rom that came with this product to your CD-Rom drive. The main menu pops up automatically. Click the “Install PNMD” button to start installation.
Note: If the auto-run program is not activated, click “My Computer”Æ your CD-Rom Drive then click the InstallMenu icon to start the main menu.

Click “Next” on the welcome window.

Fill your User Name and Company name in their respective blanks. Select if you want this software to be used by anyone who uses this computer or yourself only. Click Next to proceed.

Choose the destination folder for this software and click “Next” to start installation. You may click Browse to change the location.

Click “Finish” to complete the software installation.

After successful installation, the shortcut shows on your windows desktop.

Double click the shortcut on your desktop. The PNMD begins scanning NAS in your LAN. After scanning, the menu shows the NAS in your LAN. You may click the button to search for NAS in your LAN again.

The window shows the connection status of the NAS in your LAN. You may click on each NAS to get detailed information of each NAS. Select the NAS that you are going to connect to and click the button.

Select “Use the IP Address as below”. Fill in IP address for this device. Enter the username and password, and then click OK.

Note: ‧ The default username/ password are admin/ admin. ‧ If you have accessed the device and enabled the DHCP function for the device, please select “auto assign IP address”.

10. After successful IP address setting, the PNMD rescans NAS in your LAN automatically. Please select this device. You may: ‧ Click the NAS or

To Get Accessed to Folders Double click the shortcut on your desktop to start the PNMD. The PNMD window pops up. Select your NAS and click the button. The device provides one default username/password as “admin/admin”. The account names are also their default password respectively: Note: 1. As default, the “Share” folder is created automatically and it can be read/write by all users.

Note: The default username and password is admin/ admin 4. The Graphic User Interface pops up. To get instructions managing the device, please refer to user’s manual in the included CD. Note: To read the user’s manual, please insert the CD. Click the “My Computer” icon on your desktop. Right click your CD-Rom drive and select “Open”. Double click the “User’s_Manual” folder to find it.
