This document is intended as a reference to be used along with the Kontron Design Guide for COM Express carrier boards as well as the appropriate manual for the COM Express compliant or COM Express compatible module that you are using. This evaluation carrier board is designed and tested to work with all of Kontron’s COM Express modules that follow the Type 1 and 2 pin-outs. In addition to using this carrier board with the COM Express “Basic” form factor ETXexpress modules that Kontron offers, this carrier board also is approved for use with the Kontron microETXexpress line of “compact” form factor COM Express compatible (following COM.0 pin-out type 2) modules. In this guide we provide you with an overview of the connectors on the carrier board as well as a their pinouts. Additionally we provide you with the jumper settings and locations. For your convenience, much of this information also is silk-screened on the carrier board itself. For any assistance, please contact Kontron’s technical support teams --> www.kontron.com I/O Connector Overview: Description Connector PS2 Mouse (top) and Keyboard (bottom) J47 COM2 (top) VGA out (bottom) J49 COM1 (10-pin header) J40 USB - USB4 (top), USB5 (bottom) J46 USB - USB2 (top), USB0 (2nd J48 from top), USB1(3rd from top), USB3 (bottom) Note: Large holes around the edges of the carrier represent the mechanical mounting holes compliant to the ATX board standard for deploying the carrier in a standard ATX chassis.
