Desktop Introduction Windows 8.1 start screen Please note: You may need to log into your Microsoft account for some applications to work properly.
Swipe Functions Swipe to the right
Swipe to the right starting from the left side of the screen. This will show the last app you viewed. You can also swipe to the right and back to the left to view all your previously viewed apps.
Swipe to the left
Swipe to the left starting from the right side of the screen. This will show your “Charms”. Charms are Navigation aids such as: Search, Share, Start, Device and Settings.

Introduction to app Interface Besides the preinstalled, you can also view and use other apps by going to the apps list. (From the start screen, swipe up from the middle of the screen.)
If you want to put more apps on the start screen, see the operation in the figure below:
Press and Hold, then select an option
Press and hold the app for about one second and then let go, and select “Pin to Start” to fix to the start screen.

If you want to cancel or delete a certain application from the start screen, press and hold the app for about one second and then let it go. Select “Unpin from Start”.
Charm Bar menu Swipe the screen left from the right side to open Charm Bar menu. There are 5 charms to choose from and are described below:
Search for files and apps in the Tablet PC. Share through social exchange website or e-mail. Return to the start screen. From the start screen, you can use this function to return to the last app that was used. Read, write and share files, connect external screen or printer to the Tablet PC. Set up the Table PC or change a setting.

Dual-Screen Mode This mode allows you to view and use two apps at the same time. To access the Dual Screen mode, open an app you wish to use. Now from the left side of the screen, swipe to the right and hold down. Keep holding and move your finger to one side of the screen about a third the way across. You will see a partition appear in the middle of the screen. Then release your finger. Press and hold the partition button on the middle partition line and drag right and left to change the size of the double screens.

Basic Operations Sleep, restart and shut down: Access the Charm Bar Menu and select “Settings”. Select “Power” and this will give you the option to Sleep, Shut down or to restart the tablet.
Security Management Password setup: Access the Charm Bar Menu and select “Settings”. Select “Change PC Settings”, “Accounts”, “Sign-in options”. From here you choose to add a password by selecting the “Add” button under the Password title.
Method for quick setup: Click the Settings button in the Charm Bar Menu and select “Change PC setting”. Select “User” on the left and click “Create local account” in “Your account” on the right side. After inputting the password of “Complete Windows Live Id Account”, input username, password, confirm password and password prompt.

OFFICE ACTIVATION 1) Open Microsoft Office App and activate your subscription by pressing the “Activate” button.
2) Sign up for a Microsoft account then using your registered email address and password, log into Office and cilck the “Sign in” button.

Select your region and lanaguage then click “Continue”
4) To then begin installing Office, press the “Install” button. A progress window will then be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

5) The last part of the installation will display a “Preparing” screen and progerss counter. Once complete Office will then be ready for use.

Warranty Against Defects Laser Corporation Pty Ltd (“Laser”) warrants your new product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months, from the date of purchase, provided that the product is used in accordance with accompanying recommendations or instructions where provided. The benefit of this warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty relates. Through a network of retailers and resellers, Laser will provide you with your choice of a repair, exchange (where possible) or refund (within Dead on Arrival period) for this product if it becomes defective within the warranty period. This warranty will no longer apply where the defect is a result of alteration, accident, misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, neglect or improper storage. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase How to make a product warranty claim: Step 1: Find your receipt which proves the date of purchase. Where the date of purchase cannot be verified, your place of purchase or Laser will make an assessment based on the date of manufacture, the condition of the Laser Product and the type of defect. Step 2a): Contact your place of purchase. They will assess the nature of the fault and repair, replace or fund the product as per their store refund or warranty policy.
