Quick Start Congratulations on your purchase of this Data/Fax/Voice modem. This modem features the latest innovations in high-speed modem design, making electronic communication faster and easier. This Quick Start guide will show you how to install and properly use the modem in order to take full advantage of its features.
1 Package Contents Carefully unpack and remove the contents. Contact your dealer immediately if any of the following is missing or damaged: Modem card Telephone cable Quick start guide CD-Title with Application Software and manual.

3 Installing the Modem This internal modem is easy to install. Please follow the instructions below. To install the modem: 1.
Turn off the system and unplug your system from the power supply.
2.
Remove the system cover. Refer to your housing manual for instructions.
3.
Locate an empty PCI slot on the system board.
4.
Check your modem card model.
5.
Plug the telephone cable into the LINE jack located at the front of the bracket. Plug the other end of the telephone cable into a telephone line jack.
6.
To connect a telephone to the modem: a. Plug the telephone to the modem PHONE jack. b. Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone to check for a working connection.

Setting Up Your Modem for Windows 95/98
1.
Reboot the computer system after modem is correctly plugged into your PCI slot of computer. The Windows 95/98 will automatically detect your new modem and promote you the following dialog box to install new driver for the modem. Click “Next”.
2.
In the new dialog box, you have two choices to install a driver. The default choice is search for the best driver for your device. Click “Next”.

A new Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box will display on the Screen. Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM device and highlight the “Specify a location” and choice the “F:\Driver\Win9x”, then click “Next”.

The below dialog box to show you the INF. File, the windows 95/98 found for the modem. Click on the Next button to accept the INF. File. Then the Windows 95/98 will starts to copy all files from CD-Rom to your PC hard disk.
5.
The Windows 95/98 will display below dialog box to tell you it has already installed the driver for the modem. Click on “Finish” button to confirm the installation of the modem.

The “536EP V.92 Modem” properties dialog box are installing for this hardware, click “International Settings ” to continue.

In the “536EP V.92 Modem” properties dialog box, select a ” region” then click “ok” button to close the software. (Your modem will not work properly unless you have specified the correct country.)
5 Installing Your Modem in Windows ME 1.
Turn on your computer. As the Windows ME operating system boots up, it displays a Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen for a few seconds with the identifier name (PCI Communication Device) of your modem. Highlight the “specify the location of the driver” and Click “Next”, then a new dialog box will show on the screen.

A new Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box will display on the Screen. Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM device and highlight the “Specify a location” and choice the “F:\Driver\WinME” . Windows ME will copy the files onto your hard disk.

The below dialog box to show you the INF. File, the windows ME found for the modem .Click on the “Next” button to accept the INF. File. Then Windows ME will starts to copy all files from CD-ROM to your PC hard Disk

Windows ME will display below dialog box to tell you that it has already installed the driver for the new modem. Click on “Finish” button to confirm the installation.

In the new dialog box, you have two choices to install a driver. Highlight the “specify the location of the driver” and Click “NEXT”, then a new dialog box will show on the screen.

Please follow the above procedure form step 2 to step 3 to install the driver. The Windows ME will show you all the installation.

Windows ME will display below dialog box to tell you that it has already installed the driver for the new modem. Click on “Finish” button to confirm the installation completed.
8.
The “536EP WDM Modem” properties dialog box are installing for this hardware, select a ” region” then click “ok” button to close the software. (Your modem will not work properly unless you have specified the correct country.)

6 Installing Your Modem in Windows 2000 1.
Turn on your computer. As the Windows 2000 operating system boots up, it displays a Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen to continue, click “Next”

In the new dialog box, you have two choices to install a driver. The default choice is ”Search for the best driver for your device”. Highlight this selection if it is not already highlighted and click on “Next” button.

In the new dialog box you have four choices to search the driver files. The default choice is to select “Specify a location” then click ”Next” .

Insert the CD to your CD-ROM device, then choice the “F:\Driver \ Win2000” and click on “OK” button to continue

In the new dialog box Windows 2000 has found the driver and please click on “Next” to continue

The Windows 2000 will display below dialog box are installing for this hardware. Click “Yes” to continue.
7.
After finishing the process, Window 2000 will ask you to confirm the installation and click on “Finish” to close the wizard.

Installing Your Modem in Windows NT4.0
1.
Insert the CD to your CD-ROM device, then choose the “F:\Driver\ WinNT”, It shouldn't auto display "New Hardware Wizard dialog box" you have to double click "installer.exe" to install it.

The Windows NT4.0 operating system will ask you to install the modem. Please click on “YES” button to run the process.
3.
After finishing the installation, the Window NT4.0 operating system will display the dialog box to confirm you that all process have already completed. Then click on “OK ” to complete the installation.

Installing Your Modem in Windows XP
1.
Turn on your computer. As the Windows XP operating system boots up, it displays a Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box shown on your screen to continue, select “Install from a list or specific location” click “Next”

Insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM Device and Choose the “lnclude this location in the search”. then choose the ‘F:\Driver\WinXP” and click on “NEXT” button . Windows XP will copy the files onto your hard

The Windows XP will display below dialog box are installing for this hardware, Click on “Continue Anyway” button.
4.
After finishing the process, Window XP will ask you to confirm the Installation and click on “Finish” to close the wizard.
