Amazing sound The best-sounding Bowers & Wilkins headphones yet, with improved noise isolation, a radical drive unit redesign and a host of other features delivering spectacular clarity. Music on the move Designed to sound great on the go, an over-the-ear design means P7 immerses you in sound, so nothing interferes with the music, while an ingenious folding mechanism and case offer maximum portability. Drive units New drivers, designed more like a traditional loudspeaker deliver precise controlled movement. So P7 performs more like a traditional, audiophile speaker, less like other headphones. The result is stunning, natural sound. Luxurious materials Brushed stainless steel and a leather-encased headband and ear pads give a high-quality, high-comfort finish. The best-sounding headphones are also the most comfortable.
P7 technology
Dual cavity ear pads P7 ear pads feature a ‘dual cavity’ cushion design so the pads mold better to the wearer’s head. This increases comfort and isolation from outside noise and ensures more consistent volume of air in the space between drive unit and ear on both sides of the head. That means everyone experiences the same sound, despite different head shapes. Resistive speaker basket The internal casings around the P7 driver units are perforated with air vents covered with a resistive film. This unique design precisely controls air flow to the rear of the drive unit, resulting in a more ‘pistonic’ movement of the driver, for clearer sound reproduction. Braced speaker baffle Plates inside the P7 to “baffle” unwanted vibrations and noise are made from a very rigid and inert polymer that’s heavily braced. This limits resonances that might otherwise color the headphone sound.
P7 technology
Lighter voice coil Most headphones use copper voice coils. P7 uses voice coils made from a lighter aluminum-copper compound. Reducing weight means the drive unit can move more freely, improving high frequency reproduction and making vocals truly sing. Damping material Hi-Fi loudspeaker-like damping material inside the P7 speaker enclosure helps cut out internal reflections, further reducing coloration and distortion.

Dub Colossus Dub in a Time of Cholera Great recording and great dub is a very rare combo but this is the genuine article. Listen out for how P7 manages to deliver both the tight, solid bass and the radiant horns that come together to form a shining multi-layered sound. Bass is the place, that much is crystal clear.
Charlie Winston Unlike Me Singer songwriter with melodic talents alert! Charlie Winston’s self deprecatory love song is eloquent, charming and original with a sound that just licks your lobes. The subtle rhythms delivered by the prominent acoustic guitar are revealed in all their toe-tapping detail thanks to P7s natural, accurate delivery.
Samuel Yirga Nou Se Soleil This brief piece is intriguing. The song, performed by the Creole Choir of Cuba, echoes Black Gold of the Sun from the same album, but Yirga’s piano adds unsettling dark undercurrents. P7’s precision allows you to pick out and follow the overlapping vocals that make this piece work so well.
Little Axe Take a Stroll Skip McDonald rolls the blues with dub bass lines and comes up with a classic sound. Listen out for how P7 delivers on the artist’s desire for Take a Stroll to sound like a live recording, thanks to clever use of reverb that comes across clearly because of the headphone’s ability to deliver subtle details.
Three Cane Whale Fall Of Snow Get the Blessing trumpet player Pete Judge joins Paul Bradley on guitar and Alex Vann from Spiro to produce a radiant, pastoral piece that’s underscored by running water. Listening through P7 helps reveal the natural tonality of the acoustic instrumentation that makes the track an aural delight.
John Metcalfe Centre Metcalfe is a virtuoso violinist with a penchant for moving the spirit. Here, P7 delivers the subtle differences in tone of the plucked strings that would otherwise leave this exhilarating piece sounding somewhat flat.
