You can control power levels modelling lamp settings, perform individual test flash firings, change photocell function, switch the audio beep on/off all with the press of a few remote control buttons. To take full advantage of your purchase, please use this guide to familiarise yourself with your RM1 remote control. Thank you again!
DO NOT Use the remote control where it can come into contact with water, moisture or liquids. Expose the remote control to extreme electromagnetic fields, flammable gases or dust.
DO Remove the batteries when not in use. ALL batteries, regardless of quality, have the potential to leak corrosive liquid, especially when not used for a long period of time. Damage caused by such damage is expensive to repair and not covered by your warranty.
Each RM1 remote control comes packaged singly. If you ordered one at the same time as a studio strobe, the remote control unit will be stored in the power cable section of the studio strobe packaging. The remote control package will contain: One RM1 remote control unit. User guide. 2 low discharge type alkaline AAA batteries.

Flash Number Selection Buttons. Use these to select which studio strobe you wish to control and synchronise with. Photocell Setting Button. The function cycles through: OFF, 1 (simple optical trigger), 2, 3, 4 and 5 (2 to 5 are different pre-flash ignore settings, which will match most DSLR pre-flash sequences). Audio Button. Pressing this button will turn off/on the audio beep. Standby Button. Press this button to place the selected studio strobe into sleep mode. Test button. Pressing this button will discharge the selected strobe. Also, please discharge the strobe immediately before before turning the strobe off. Do not discharge the strobe until it is fully charged. Thins function is particularly useful when used in conjunction with a flash meter. Model Button. Use this button to cycle through the 4 flash and modelling lamp output & adjustment modes (as shown below). NOTE: going from mode 4 back to Mode 1 will reset the modelling lamp output to synchronise with the flash output level. For this reason, if you intend to fix the modelling lamp output level and only vary the flash output level, it is recommended to set the modelling lamp output in Mode 1, and then switch to Mode 2 to adjust the flash output level, and leave the strobe in this mode as you make adjustments.
