The RA3192 Speaker Microphone is a simple, low cost alternative communications solution for military applications worldwide. The Speaker Microphone is available in a number of variants to allow connection to a wide range of military radios.
A rugged clothing clip allows quick and easy attachment of the speaker microphone to a convenient point on the uniform. It remains in place even in high tempo operational situations. Conveniently mounted on the shoulder, it can easily pick up the uses voice, is conveniently located when operating the ‘Push to Talk’ (PTT) button and the incoming audio can clearly be heard. In fact, the speaker can be heard, when required, by those close by. This enables messages to be passed easily to a squad or important information to be communicated to locals in their native language. Constructed from tough plastic, the Speaker Microphone will withstand drops and knocks. It is fully sealed so it is waterproof and dust proof and it operates over and extensive temperature range to suit all environments. An optional listen only acoustic earpiece is available when the user wants to ensure incoming communications are for their ears only. Alternatively an adapter cable is available to enable the connection of a single sided, lightweight headset.
Benefits With integral Push to Talk and volume controls, the necessary controls for the radio are at hand, while the radios itself can be tucked or stowed away. The extensible cable allows the Speaker Microphone to be worn wherever is suits the user, allowing plenty of cable to reach the radio while avoiding snag hazards and dangling cable that could hinder the user.
