USB 3.1 for Everyone With USB Type-C the IB-U31-01 supports reversible plug orientation and cable direction, which means that users will no longer need to be concerned with plug orientation/cable direction, making it easier to plug in. The new connector is smaller and thinner design, but provides a higher power output capacity to the USB device. The IB-U31-01 works with any PCIe x1, x4, x8 and x16 slot with Generation 3 and enables the ultimate-speed transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s — twice as fast USB 3.0. The USB 3.1 standard is backward-compatible with your existing USB devices, provided that respective cables are available.

System Requirements OS: > Windows 7 One available x1, x4, x8 or x16 PCI Express slot. (PCI Express Gen. 3.0 at least) CD/DVD-ROM drive for driver installation or user can download driver from Raidsonic website. Note In order to get USB 3.1 SuperSpeed+ performance, please use PCI Express Generation 3 slot for card installation. Or only get half of the data transfer rate.

To satisfy USB 3.1 10 Gbit/s SuperSpeed+ highest performance, ICY BOX IB-U31-01 adopts the PCIe Gen3 / x1 (8 Gbit/s) interface connector design. However, most PC systems do not support PCIe Gen3 specification, but only PCIe Gen2 x1 (5 Gbit/s) performance. So that ICY BOX IB-U31-01 could not sport full-power performances (10 Gbit/s). Please double-check your PC system for system detail information.
