C OMPANY INTRODUCTION T H E C O M PA N Y Initial Concept Solutions Ltd. (ICS) formed in mid-2002 to provide leading technology solutions to the transport industry. The founding members of the company have all come from a railway and security background totalling some 100 years experience in practical - design, installation, maintenance and management of security and railway infrastructure. Initial Concept Solutions are dedicated specialists to the more demanding requirements and standards in this field, and spent three years developing a sophisticated on-board train security system that is currently in use in and around the London area. In 2004 we expanded into providing a wider range of products outside the railway industry and to introduce our systems to a much more widespread customer market.

Transportation environments are usually harsh, with repeated exposure to shock and vibration often proving too much for adapted desk-top electronic systems. The ICS MDVR-E8/16 is specifically designed for public and commercial transport applications onboard rolling stock. Designed to conform to BS EN 50121-3-2:2000 and EN 61371 (rail) standards with an anodised aluminium enclosure and aerospace grade suspension bushes, the ICS-MDVR-E8/16 can withstand prolonged exposure to the vibration and shock that is typical of road and rail transportation. In addition, the use of rugged multi pin automotive connectors provides good quality connections even with continuous vibration and allows quick and easy removal / installation. All user connections and controls are performed on the front panel using a laptop or via a network. Status indicators are easily visible for checking system functionality during “Pre-driver’s check” and are located behind a strong acrylic clear window to avoid any tampering.

A robust extruded aluminium enclosure mounted on aerospace grade shock absorbers ensures that ICS-MDVR-E8/16 can withstand prolonged exposure to the vibration and shock that is typical of rail transportation.

3-axis accelerometer providing g-force measurements of vehicle, can be associated with camera footage for use in evidential circumstances.
POWER MANAGEMENT
The ICS-MDVR-E8/16 power management facility stops the unit recording and closes down operation after a user defined period has elapsed from the vehicle ignition being turned off. The unit will also carry out a controlled and timed power down sequence when the vehicle voltage has fallen below a user set level.

DATASHEET ICS-MDVR-P11 A D VA N C E D S U R V E I L L A N C E S Y S T E M S F O R T R A I N S The ICS-MDVR-P11 is a high-end H.264 product offering real time recording that provides the perfect surveillance solution for vehicle management. The Mobile Digital Video Recorder has been specially designed for public and commercial transportation applications and particularly suited for Railway applications. The system uses the advanced H.264 video compression and decompression methods, wireless transmission, and GPS location all helping to make the P11 a perfect solution for passenger transport on railway trains. The system has a unique and specially designed internal vibration shock absorber within the removable hard disk housing. All user controls are performed on the front panel and by using a laptop’s network port. Two Status indicators are easily visible for checking system functionality during “Pre-driver’s check” and are located behind a strong acrylic clear window to avoid any tampering. In addition to the standard DVR functions such as event and audio recording, the DVR can incorporate extra features such as: GPS location tracking, 3-axis g-force logging, vehicle data logging (e.g. brakes, indicators tachometer, driver panic button, remote control conductor panic button) and intelligent power management all adding to enhance the capability of this high performance mobile DVR.

DATASHEET ICS-MDVR-P22 A D VA N C E D S U R V E I L L A N C E S Y S T E M S F O R T R A I N S The ICS-MDVR-P22 is the very latest and by far the most advanced mobile CCTV solution available today and surpasses all other competition in its class. This DVR has been carefully designed specifically for high end public and commercial transportation applications particularly for the Railway industry. Offering the most advanced H.264 video compression and playback software along with WiFi/3G transmission and GPS location, all helping to make the P22 to be the most powerful and advanced mobile CCTV system of its kind. The system incorporates a unique internal shock absorber and anti-vibration mount within the removable hard disk housing and has undergone all Railway Group standard testing. The ICS-MDVR-P22 system has “dual high speed processors” and support for two removable hard disk drives which can work independently (if one HDD fails the other one will take over) The system offers a huge record rate of “480pps”across the box, so allowing real time recording on all cameras. All user controls are performed on the front panel and by using a laptops network socket or by wireless or 3G communications.
