1. Using the supplied mounting template mark the locations of the center hole and 3 outer pilot holes. 2. Drill 3 pilot holes using a 2 mm (5/64 in.) drill bit (as shown in image A in the diagram below). Use a torque setting that is appropriate for the material and thickness of the mounting surface. 3. Drill the center hole using a 25 mm (1 in.) hole saw (as shown in image B in the diagram below). Use a torque setting that is appropriate for the material and thickness of the mounting surface. A

4. Pull the connector end of the cable through the hole in the mounting panel. Note: The Raymic cable includes a pigtail cable for connecting an external speaker. If you are installing the Microphone Relocation Kit, connect the speaker to the VHF radio transceiver, NOT the pigtail cable. If you are not using the pigtail it should be covered with waterproof tape or sealant to prevent corrosion. 5. Insert the washer (labelled 6 in the diagram below) over the end of the connector.

6. Insert the gasket (labelled 4 in the diagram above) over the end of the connector. 7. Insert the mounting plate (labelled 3 in the diagram above) over the end of the connector, ensuring that the screw holes are aligned with the respective holes in the gasket and the mounting panel. 8. Place the nut (labelled 5 in the diagram above) over the connector and tighten clockwise using a 13/16 in. socket wrench. 9. Align the small end of the splashproof cap (labelled 1 in the diagram above) with one of the screw holes on the gasket. 10. Secure the mounting plate to the mounting surface using the supplied screws. 11. Attach the Raymic or microphone to the cable connector and rotate clockwise to secure. 12. Connect the opposite end of the cable to the microphone relocation connector on the rear of the VHF radio transceiver unit. Raymic / Microphone relocation kit
Raymic external speaker You can use an optional external speaker with the Raymic cable. • If using the Raymic kit you can connect a third-party external speaker directly to the Raymic cable.
1
• If using the microphone relocation kit connect the external speaker to the VHF radio transceiver. • Use a 4 ohm, 5 watt speaker with a rated audio output of 2 watts RMS / 3.5 watts peak to peak at 4 ohms. • Connect the positive and negative speaker wires to the yellow (positive) and green (negative) wires on the Raymic or VHF radio transceiver pigtail cables, as appropriate.
2
• If not connecting an external speaker to the Raymic, cover the pigtail wires with waterproof tape or sealant to prevent corrosion. • The transceiver VOL knob controls the volume of the transceiver speaker and the external speaker connected to it. Likewise, the Raymic VOL key controls the volume of the Raymic earpiece speaker and that of the connected external speaker.

1. Third-party external speaker. 2. Connection to VHF radio transceiver OR Raymic cable. 3. Raymic cable. 4. Optional extension cable: 5 m (16.4 ft) (A46055) or 10 m (32.8 ft) (A46056). 5. VHF radio transceiver.
Raymic second station The transceiver / fist microphone set is designed to be the priority unit, while the Raymic serves as a second station. Raymic / Microphone relocation kit

The transceiver always has priority over the Raymic to make a call. The message BASE IN USE appears on the Raymic whenever a call is being made from the transceiver. However, you can initiate an intercom call from the Raymic when the transceiver is in use.
Maintenance Maintenance care points. • Use a soft non-abrasive cloth to clean the radio display lens. To prevent scratching from salt crystal build-up, splash the equipment with fresh water first. • Splash fresh water behind the keys and speaker to prevent salt crystal build-up. 25 mm (1 in)
