To be compliant, Alameda businesses (and multi-family NO MERGING residential properties) must have an appropriate level of Recyclables and Organics collection service in place. Businesses are required to sort their trash, and may be cited if contamination is found in their bins and/or carts. Your blue Recyclables carts and bins are for bottles, cans, papers, and boxes. Dispose of Hazardous Waste Responsibly Alameda County operates a drop-in program that accepts latex paint, aerosol cans, fluorescent lamps, and household batteries. Charges apply. Visit StopWaste.Org/hhw and choose “Business Hazardous Waste” from the vertical menu on the right side of the page for more information. Put hazardous waste in the right place. Please remember that hazardous waste does NOT belong in your Recyclables, Organics or Garbage carts and bins.
