What’s New This section describes some enhancements and fixings available in this software version 8.3.4.18 since previous Scopia® XT Series GA v8.3.2.534.
International Call Prefix The International Call Prefix (also called International Direct Dial code, IDD) can be configured in this version. If configured, the specified numeric code will replace the leading '+' symbol when placing outgoing calls. Usually ‘+’ is expanded with a default code in most country (for instance 00 in Europe). For other countries, a default expansion is not available and should be configured. For any country, IDD expansion can be changed or disabled. To disable IDD expansion, clear the field (or leave it empty). To change default IDD expansion, browse to [GUI] [W EB]
Figure 2:
> CONFIGURE >ADVANCED>SYSTEM>LOCATION> > ADMINISTRATOR SETTINGS>SYSTEM>LOCATION>
International Call Prefix: Configure the numeric code to replace a leading '+' in a numeric dialed number, according to the country. If the field is empty, no expansion for the leading '+' will be done.

Note: o o
International call prefix expansion is disabled by default in countries where different codes can be used (i.e. USA, Canada, Russia, Finland, Brazil, Chile, Korea, Israel and others…) To disable the expansion, clear the field (set it to empty). In this case the initial '+' symbol will not be expanded.
Web Login Attempts In this version, it is possible to configure a lock timeout after 5 failed web logins in 10 minutes. To activate login attempts security, browse to [GUI] [W EB]
> CONFIGURE >ADVANCED>UTILITIES>REMOTE ACCESS>W EB > ADMINISTRATOR SETTINGS>UTILITIES>REMOTE ACCESS>W EB
Enable Login Attempts: Yes*/No. If enabled, after 5 failed login attempts from the same web client in 10 minutes, the login will be denied for a configurable amount of time. A message will be shown when connecting to the XT Web interface, inviting to retry later.
Login Denied Time:30 minutes or 1/2/4 hours. If too many login failures are registered from a web client, the Web interface will deny access to the faulty client for the specified amount of time.

To obtain the best experience in video conferencing using a setup with two monitors, it is strongly suggested to follow below recommendations.
Check that the XT HD1 and HD2 output are connected to the video source plug on the Monitor (if the monitor model has more than a selectable HD video source, use the same one on both). Use HD cables of the same model and length. Verify that the connectors are not damaged. Check XT Menu, visible on the XT GUI (similar menus are available via the XT Web interface) o In XT Configure >Advanced > I/O Connections>Monitors>General, Please check that the default values are set: Numbers of monitors is auto Resolution HD1 is auto Resolution HD 2 is auto o In the same menu, Please check that detected resolutions of both monitors are identical and corresponding to the expected ones (they are displayed on the right side of the above settings), for instance 1920x1080p@60 o In XT Configure >Advanced > I/O Connections>Monitors>Graphic Adjustments, adjustment mode values must be Menu, Presentation and all the other values should be 0 (Top, Left, Bottom, Right) on both monitors, or they should be identical.

What’s New | 7
Check Third Party Monitor Settings Menu, using the monitor own remote control device. These settings depend on the Monitor Vendor and Model, and may vary accordingly. These are the most relevant to check. o Monitor vendor and model should be identical o FW on monitors should be identical o Graphic settings exactly the same on both monitors (Backlighting, contrast, sharpness, color), preferably monitor defaults. You can fine tune monitor settings by generating a test image on both monitors as explained above (Monitor Test Image generation). o Expert Control should be Off o Movie or Cinema mode should be used, never gaming mode o Any dynamic gain or smart management of the image should be avoided o Cropping or resizing of the content on the monitors should be disabled
Scopia® XT7000 Series Telepresence This version allows using three Scopia® XT7000 Series systems, jointly with Scopia® XT Series Telepresence platform in order to setup a XT Telepresence room. Using XT7100, you can call p2p another XT7100 based telepresence conferencing room, supporting H.265 video protocol. This allows obtaining a 1080p60 telepresence experience with just 6Mbps bandwidth. Scopia® XT Telepresence comprises of three XT Series systems of the same kind (sold separately), which are installed and calibrated specifically for telepresence. A triplet of XT5000 or XT7000 Codec Units can be used. When you register the XT Series systems, you receive a telepresence license which enables the telepresence feature as well as support for Scopia® Control, an Apple® iPad™ app which functions as a remote control for the Scopia® XT Telepresence platform. Before purchasing the Scopia® XT Telepresence platform, make sure you have the following components: Three XT Series (three XT5000 or three XT7000) systems, each with its XT Codec Unit, camera, microphone and the XT Remote Control Unit. Scopia® Management with build-in Avaya Scopia® Gatekeeper installed on a server. Three identical 50”-65” monitors of the same vendor, model and size to display the participants, and an extra monitor or projector for displaying presentations. Audio amplifier and speakers An Apple iPad with Scopia® Control installed. Both XT5000 and XT7000 based telepresence setups can be controlled using XT TCP/IP APIs and AMX and Crestron controllers. Free working samples for AMX and Crestron are available on Avaya support website (see Additional References section, support for AMX/Creston).
Enhancements This version introduces several enhancements.
Preference for Directory Contacts Search By default XT endpoint searches contacts in a Global Directory only when a few digits of the name are inserted (manual search).
Release Notes for Avaya Scopia® XT Series
Enhancements | 8
In this version it is possible to customize the XT endpoint to show a number of Directory contacts (from a remote LDAP server), without starting a specific manual search. This corresponds to an automatic search for "any" contact (up to 300 contact entries will be returned). The returned contacts will be merged with Favorites contacts (when the remote LDAP server is Scopia® Management or another XT Series Endpoint). Browse to [GUI] [W EB]

Search Contacts in Directory
Important o
Please note that when the remote LDAP server hosting the Directory is on a slow connection, "Manual" search mode can greatly improve the search speed. The search will begin only when a few letters are inserted in the search field.
Encryption Preferences In this version, it is possible to disable audio alerts for encryption and also to disable SIP proprietary encryption (which can be used when connecting to XT Series systems where TLS is disabled or not supported) Browse to [GUI] [W EB]
> CONFIGURE > ADVANCED> CALLS>ENCRYPTION: > ADMINISTRATOR SETTINGS> CALLS>ENCRYPTION:
Audio Alert: Yes*/No When audio alerts are disabled, participant in a meeting are no longer alerted with an audio message about the encryption status of the call or of the meeting.
SIP Proprietary Encryption: Yes*/No When disabled, SIP calls with XT Series terminals where TLS is not supported or enabled will not be encrypted. It is suggested to upgrade XT Series systems and to enable TLS in SIP to guarantee maximum security.

How to Upgrade XT Series to this Release Software upgrade packages named XT5000_Vx_y_z.exe can be used only to upgrade Scopia® XT5000/XT4x00/XTE240 Series Codec Units. Software upgrade packages named XT7000_Vx_y_z.exe can be used only to upgrade Scopia® XT7000 Series Codec Units. To upgrade the software of an XT Series Codec Unit: o o o o o o o
Figure 9:
Save the XTn000_vx.y.z.exe file containing the XT Series Software in your Windows PC Verify that the PC is connected to the network in wired mode (otherwise the upgrade process can be very slow when using a wireless connection) and that it can ping XT. Double click the version .exe file. Below application will be launched. Insert IP address of the XT to upgrade in the Codec Unit IP address field. Press “Start” button in the app. Do not turnoff or unplug XT, until it completes the upgrade. The application will signal that the upgrade is completed. Verify that the XT is restarting.
Software Upgrade Application
Caution o o o o o o
Do not turn off the system until the upgrade procedure is completed. The system LED may blink repeatedly while upgrading. If you are upgrading from a 3.0/3.1 version of XT5000/XT4000, the upgrade procedure may reboot more than once while upgrading. A 30 to 40-second interval may occur between the reboots. If the upgrade procedure is INTERRUPTED for any reason, do NOT restart the Codec Unit but repeat the procedure as suggested by the Codec User Interface. If the GLAN interface is not reachable any more, put the .exe upgrade package into a formatted USB key and insert it into the upper USB socket. This procedure is completed when you see the initial graphical menu displayed continuously for at least one minute.
Important o
o
Since version 8.3 is a Major Release for Scopia® XT Series Codec Units, a new license might be required for this upgrade if the endpoint is not under Maintenance Contract. The codec can in any case work in preview mode without a license for 30 days (Power ON time – countdown is suspended when the system is OFF). Before Upgrading it’s always suggested to back-up the previous system configuration from Diagnostics > Utilities > Configuration > Export.

In some conditions the calendar notifications and scheduled meetings were not available after a software upgrade/downgrade, due to the creation of a restore point. The workaround was to restart the XT once after the creation of the restore point. This issue has been fixed. Fix on the Recording Status when recording to a network. The XT now will show in the UX that a recording is in progress only when a notification that a recording is correctly started is received. If no indication is received, after 30 seconds the recording will be considered not started. A new AT command recording status value has been added to check that a recording start request is pending. Please note that if the recording is already started when the XT joins the meeting, the correct state will be reported by XT only if the meeting is managed by Scopia® Management 8.3.4 as well. Fixed an graphical issue where "hide myself" status is not evidenced in embedded MCU GUI Fixed an issue for XTE240 Pressing Near/far button to cycle the inputs, when the system is back to the USB Camera the remote received a fuzzy colored video This happened only when not receiving or sending a presentation and the DVI input is less than 1080p. RTP Keep Alive message was not sent into the presentation stream on remote activation in SIP calls. Calendar hints not updated for existing meetings after startup. Random issue, more frequent when both GLAN1 and GLAN2 are connected. Icon “Terminals Audio” absent or incorrect. Pressing "Ok" button in the remote control when in advanced call options page the call is made audio-video in place of audio only Direct call could fail due to the use of a disabled protocol. This issue has been fixed. Fixed an issue where sometimes the XT doesn't allow inserting a contact in favorites Fixed: API SA Command can’t check the recording status when Recording is via Scopia Recording Server Fixed an issue about wrong audio message when recording outside a call Fixed an issue when SVC video is received in a sip call before remote party advertising it. Corrected text of “Die Gegenstelle hat den Anruf beeendet” Gatekeeper ID field locks the system and push Recovery if the ID inserted includes a space char Regression on XT remote directory Added a warning on the recording/playback GUI that if a screen link connection is active, the USB Playback/Recording is not available. When the XT has the H.323 (or SIP) Protocol disabled it still registers to the GK (or to the SIP Server) Presentation is not transmitted if the sender is set to duplicate monitor and the selected layout doesn't display the screen link stream

Solution
Echo cancellation issue when audio out of HD2 is enabled (HD2 is connected to a track of the XT audio mixer) and HD2 audio output is heard in the room through loudspeakers or a monitor.
In Configure > Advanced > I/O Connections > Audio – Outputs > Tracks > Outputs from tracks: Set HD2 to Off.
Echo cancellation issue when using HD2 as single monitor
Connect the single monitor to HD1. HD2 should be used only as additional monitor.
Some HD monitors crop the output.
If the borders of the graphical menus are not fully visible, select Configure > Quick Setup from the Main menu. Select Next in the Quick Setup to adjust how the menu is displayed in the monitor. You can also resize the local and received presentation on the additional monitor from the web interface. Select Administrator Settings > I/O Connections > Monitor > Graphical Adjustments.
Additional monitor/Cloned monitor may become black during the call
It is strongly suggested to use two monitors of the same Vendor/Brand/Model, with the same settings. In particular, do not mix 1080p/720p monitors-. During a call, do not change monitor resolutions and do not connect/disconnect monitors
