RELEASE NOTE
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION XFly Streamer is a software dedicated to the backup of streams from one or several EVS video servers (XT2, XT2+, XT3, XS, XTnano, XSnano). XFly Streamer manages the backup and transfer of up to 12 streams selected by the operator. XFly.Streamer acts as a user interface for the background running XSquare/XTAccess file transfer application and sends its commands to XSquare using the SOAP jobs files.

RELEASE NOTE Job templates management Users must select XSquare pre-defined templates rather than wrappers. This leads to the possibility to select Xsquare templates specifically configured for XFlyStreamer and to modify the Xsquare templates configured for XFlyStreamer.

AVID Metadata definition AVID AAF metadata: new options have been added to save files in local folders, to send files to AVID and to set the AVID tape name format string and save the AVID tape name in the metadata file.

RELEASE NOTE Servers list review Possibility to select the server to be used for the timecode reference.From the Filters area, it is possible to search for a server with its IP address.
Stream recording The recording of streams can be scheduled in the future.
A new command is available to stop the recording immediately.
The Max duration value can be modified during the recording.

RELEASE NOTE UI modification The various areas of the XFlyStreamer window have been modified for new features: The Storage field and the Destination field are mutually dependent.
A command is available to lock the whole interface.
Xsquare configuration Parameters of the local Xsquare have been modified to support all new templates, for ex.: Proxy file generation
CODEC/WRAPPER SUPPORT The File formats with XT native codecs are:
EVS MXF with SD codecs: MJPEG, IMX30-40-50, DVCPRO50; and with HD codecs: MJPEG, VC-3 100, Avid DNxHD 120-145-185-220, DVCPRO HD, Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and Apple ProRes 422 (LT), AVC-Intra 100. MXF OP1A (XDCAM) with SD codecs IMX30-40-50 Quick Time Movie with SD codecs: MJPEG, IMX30-40-50, DVCPRO50; and with HD codecs: MJPEG std, VC-3 100, Avid DNxHD 120-145-185-220, DVCPRO HD, Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and Apple ProRes 422 (LT), AVC-Intra 100. INSTALLER The installer sets up automatically all software and components therefore no additional setting is required prior to operate the XFLY.Streamer. For manual configuration of remote systems, please refer to the User’s Manual to set the correct parameters and to create the related folders. XSquare is included in XFLY.Streamer installer and required 2GB capacity on system drive for its installation and configuration. Note: Minimal OS resources have been optimized for all new XFLY systems delivered with previous version 1.01.29. For old XFLY device equipped with SSD 30GB, we recommend to install Ghost nbr 370103 to take profit of this optimization.

RELEASE NOTE XFLY.Streamer is dedicated to be installed on XFLY hardware but this software can also be installed on other PC compatible system. XFly.Streamer is validated with WIN7 64-bit/32-bit. Note: For all WIN 7 systems and in order to avoid Louth ID generation failure, set User Account Control (Control Panel > Users Accounts > Change User Account Control Settings) to “Never Notify”
PERFORMANCES The following diagrams show the performances of XFLY unit to process multiple 90min backups from XT native codec to standard file wrappers such as EVSMXF, QT, OP1a SMPTE and AVID OPATOM. Important note: The XFLY system has not been designed to process multiple transcoding jobs at a time. In order to sustain multiple real-time transfers as described in these performance diagrams, we recommend to launch transcoding jobs separately from real-time constraints and not to exceed 4 jobs at a time.

Note: 720P formats are supported but no performance tests were processed. The backup of these formats are supposed to be less performing compared to 1080i formats therefore please consider to validate your workflow prior to use 720p formats. Only one GBE Ethernet port was configured during these performances tests. In order to increase the number of simultaneous jobs, the network configuration can be modified by defining 2 different VLANs or by configuring a Teaming LACP.
SOFTWARE RESTRICTIONS
XFly.streamer depends on XSQ/XTAccess engine and so inherits of all limitations of XSQ/XTAccess software. Installing the software requires ‘Administrator’ rights and all new folders created needs to be shared with full access rights. All servers to backup have to be genlocked and connected to the same LTC reference. Maximum duration for recording is limited to 300 minutes Maximum number of simultaneous channels for recording is limited to 12 No transcoding option, only re-wrapping facilities Only Local XSquare/XTAccess (and storage) are configured during installation. If the use of a remote XSquare/XTAccess is necessary, please refer to the installation section to set manually the related parameters and shared the folders dedicated to XFly.Streamer operations. Capacities information is only available if the SNMP agent is configured on the remote storage. Discovery of servers on 2 separate VLANs is no longer available.

XSQUARE DB MAINTENANCE Automatic and manual scripts for DB maintenance have been added in order to delete numerous GRAB jobs created during XFST operations and saved to XSquare Database. These jobs can be deleted on a regular basis without affecting the XFST operations and in order to avoid unnecessary entries in the SQL database of XSquare. Three scripts are added to your system during the installation of XFLY.Streamer, those scripts cover the main workflows: 1. 2. 3.
