The devices meet the following EU directives: 2006/95/EC, 2004/108/EC The product fulfils the guidelines and standards for CE labelling.
Implemented Simple Network Management Protocol for GSS basic units: The following items are signalled: – Level of the output signal measured via PSCU 6000 – BIT – error rate at QAM output signals – Present line synchronizing signal at analogous PAL output signals – Present RDS signal at FM output signals – Quality of the input signal (good, poor and no signal) at QPSK-PAL double transmodulators as well as QPSK- QAM transmodulators
Remote software updates: – Software updates are done via the BEflash software. – Remote software updates are possible at all current Profi Line basic units.

Note on transmodulator cassettes PxDQx002BC with MTP functionality: When performing a service drop via remote or Ethernet all PIDs of the service which should be dropped and the corresponding PMT-PID must be dropped after selecting the related cassette in the PID drop list of PSW 1000. Then the related tables will be automatically adapted by the activated PSI/SI processing. Up to 10 services can be dropped at transmodulator cassettes PxDQx003(001) by changing the "+" symbol at the listed services to "-" in the corresponding submenu of the virtual control unit of the PSW 1000 using the buttons. The service drops are DVB conformable.

PRCU 12
The PRCU 12 management system is equipped with the MOXA DA-662 industrial PC which is to connect to the internet via a router, a 19" connecting panel and LAN controlled 230V switching outlets. It has 12 interfaces to control up to 12 control units BE-Remote, the PSCU 6000 monitoring cassette or the backup system PRS 16/8. The units will be connected to 12 Sub-D connectors located at a 19" panel. The Sub-D plugs are connected by RJ45 cables to the interfaces on the rear side of the MOXA PC. In addition a Sub-D socket to connecting a PC and a Sub-D plug to connecting a modem are located at the 19" panel.
Error messages from the PSCU 6000 monitoring cassette can be forwarded by the PRCU 12 management system as SMS, fax or e-mail. Using SMS or fax transfer an analogous modem must be connected which must support SNMP.
The basic units can be configured and remote controlled with software PSW 1000, a remote controlled software update of the cassettes can be done with software BE-Flash.
A connected backup system PRS 16/8 can be configured by the software PSW 1000 via the PRCU 12.
Expert Power Control NET 8X is a LAN controlled 230V 8-fold switching outlet with timeshift switching on of the outlets at power blackout. As the basic units are operated via this power supply unit a remote controlled hardware reset can be done.
It is also suggested to operate the PRCU 12 via the Expert Power Control NET 8X. In this way a remote controlled reboot is possible.

Connecting a PC/Laptop
• Connect the serial interface of the PC using a self-made 1:1-RS-232 cable to the RS-232 socket "PC" $ at the front side of the 19" panel (page 7). Optionally use a commercially available USB/RS-232 adapter at PCs / laptops with USB interface (without serial interface). 4.3
Connecting a PC/Laptop via a modem
The basic units connected to the management system can be configured remotely using a modem and a PC or laptop. Please find our analogous modem set on our webside “www.gss.de”.
• Connect the supported connection cable to the plug "MODEM / MOBILE PHONE" # at the front side of the 19" panel (page 7). • Connect the modem to a phone socket via a phone cable.
4.4
Connecting a PC/Laptop via Ethernet
For the first configuration the PC or laptop must be connected directly to the PRCU 12 (19" panel) as described in point 4.2 (RS-232 connection).
In situ operation of the PRCU 12 should be done via port 3 of the Cisco router 876 by DHCP.
To set the IP address of the router in the menu "Station data" of the PSW 1000 at the first configuration connect the PC/laptop to port 3 of the router and identify the IP address of the router.
