The RCSS detects motion and records the motion (plus 30 seconds before and after the motion) to the onboard storage. When the Remote Control Key Fob ON button has been actuated within 50-100m of the RCSS, the WiFi is turned on. A laptop/notebook PC is then used to connect to the WiFi and view the video stream via the Video Client software. Recorded data is searched via a calendar display or graphical motion indicator display. The selected clips can then be exported to the PC via the software. Once the clips have been exported, the Remote Control Key Fob OFF button is actuated to turn the WiFi of and the agent leaves the scene. If the agent is stationed within the WiFi zone, then the PC can be left connected with live video streaming for as long as desired. The Export Viewer or the Video Client software can be used to capture pictures for further review. Hardware Setup The hardware setup requires connecting the camera cable and the power cable to the RCSS Base Station and connecting the power cable to the 12V battery (not provided). Connect Camera Connect the small 3-pin camera cable to the Camera Connector on the RCSS Base Station (as shown below): Connect Battery Make sure the battery is providing no more than 15VDC, then connect battery terminals to the battery (as shown below): Battery Lifetime The unit consumes .35A at 12VDC with the WIFI disabled. With the WIFI enabled the consumption goes to .75A at 12VDC. To calculate the run time of a given 12V battery, simply divide the number of amp-hours for that battery by .35 if running without WiFi or by .75 if running with WiFi. A 60 amp-hour car battery will provide approx 170hrs of runtime without WiFi or 80 hours with WiFi. When periodically downloading video you can assume no WiFi use. When constantly monitoring a live stream assume WiFi use. Connect Power Cable Connect the 2-pin power cable connector to the RCSS Base Station (as shown below): Operation WiFi Connection Once the RCSS hardware has been connected and powered on, use the CMSS Remote Control to turn the WiFi on. The current WiFi Router has been named Sentinel. Open the network connection dialog on the task bar and select Sentinel (as shown below). *** This can be changed so that the Sentinel connection is not broadcast Select the Connect button and enter the Password: A42A45207A (as shown below). If the IP Address was not previously setup for the PC (Sentinel WiFi), please refer to the section entitled, WiFi Connection and IP Address Setup. Video Client Software Select the Bosch Video Client icon to open the software and the Logon Window will popup. Enter the User name : administrator and select the Log on button (as shown below). The Password is currently blank but can be set in the Configuration Utility. The Bosch Video Client window will open as shown in the figure below. To view live video simply click on the camera icon which is the second icon in the top menu bar. The live view should appear as shown below. To Download Recorded Video 1. Select the Playback Recorded Video button 2. Select to expand Border Patrol 1 (if there is no Border Patrol Camera Icon, then add the camera) 3. Double-Click Track 1 In the lower part of the Bosch Video Client software window, the Track 1 timeline is shown with motion activity highlighted as seen below. 1. Use the - Zoom Out button to zoom the timeline view to the desired timeframe 2. Click and drag to select the area required for export 3. Left-click in the selected area and select Export from the drop-down menu In the Export dialog window, perform the tasks as shown in the image below: 1. Select the directory to save the exported file on the PC 2. Select the name of the exported recording 3. Select the Export button Wait for the export to complete. The percentage complete is shown in the timeline area. There is no need to erase the storage, because the configuration is set to overwrite the oldest recordings. * Don’t forget to turn off the WiFi after the export is complete! Viewing Exported Video The Export Player software can be used to view the exported recordings, but it does not include the timeline graphics like the Video Client Software does. Therefore, it is recommended that the Video Client Software is also used to view and capture images from the exported recordings. Follow the procedure above as if exporting a recording, but instead perform the tasks as shown in the image below from the lower left side of the window: 1. 2. 3. 4. Expand the Exports tab on the bottom left and expand to the recording to view Double-click the recording to open Zoom to the appropriate level and select the activity selection to start viewing Playback controls PC Software Installation The software provided should be Unzipped to a folder such as, BVC_1_4_SR1_B203_release_packet. From the created folder select and double-click the executable file, BVC-1.4.203-Installer. Select Next to install the application and on the next screen Yes to accept the license. Then select Next to continue with the installation directory. On the next screen, select both check boxes (as shown below) and select Next. Select Next, Select Next…and then Next and Finish, to complete the installation. The Bosch Configuration Application should automatically open. Configuration Application When the application is first launched, the Configuration Manager is launched (as shown below) Select Cancel to Exit from the Configuration Wizard (because this will load settings into the camera encoder, which S4 Tech has already setup). Then select the Devices tab on the left and right-click in the white area below the name heading and select New Device. This will bring up a dialog box (as Shown below): Enter the URL (IP Address) and select the VIP X1 XF Type as shown in the figure above. Click OK. The software will search for a few moments and then should find the camera Border Patrol. Close the Configuration window and the Bosch Video Client Application should start up. WiFi Connection and IP address Setup Once the RCSS hardware has been connected and powered on, use the Remote Control Key Fob to turn the WiFi on. The RCSS WiFi is named Sentinel. Open the network connection dialog on the task bar and select Sentinel (as shown below). select the Connect button and enter the Password: A42A45207A (as shown below). Once the PC is connected to Sentinel (it will warn of No Internet Connection), right-click Sentinel in the connection drop-up menu and select Status. You should see the window below: Then select Properties at the bottom left of the window. In the Properties window select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then select the Properties button (as shown below).
