Remote Satellite Systems International KlasHopper KlasHopper is a revolutionary new mobile product that allows a laptop or desktop PC connect to the Internet or corporate network at high speeds over satellite links. KlasHopper consists of a plug-and-play PC card and a cable. KlasHopper works with any Inmarsat B HSD (High Speed Data) mobile terminal and can also be connected to high-speed VSAT terminals. In VSAT connections, KlasHopper can work at speeds up to 2mbit/s. KlasHopper uses an advanced PCMCIA algorithm that provides very high throughput under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. Ease of Use • Mobile solution - one PC card and one cable. No external boxes or power supplies required. • Easy to install : Plug and play instantly recognizes KlasHopper for easy installation in under 5 minutes. • Supports Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. Internet Access • Supports all Internet applications such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator and PointCast. • Configure KlasHopper via Dial-up Networking in Windows 95 and RAS in Windows NT. • Full TAPI support. • PPP and Multilink PPP. Networking Support • Support all network protocols such as TCP/IP, NetBEUI and IPX/SPX. • Supports LAN file redirection including Network Neighborhood and Remote Printing. • NDIS 4.0 Compatible. • Full Windows PPP support : PAP, CHAP, compression and encryption. • Multi-user networked version : [NT Only] : Multi-user access across the LAN with IP forwarding. • Dial-in Server support. Satellite Terminals • Supports Inmarsat B High Speed Data (HSD) terminals at 64kbit/s. Under Windows 95 with two KlasHopper cards and two terminals 128kbit/s transfers are supported. • Supports VSAT terminals (at speeds up to 2mbit/s). • Supports multiple hardware interfaces : RS-232, RS-442/449, X.21, V.35. • Designed for satellite transit delay - full efficiency. Dial Modes • V.25bis dial. This is an industry standard dialing method used by synchronous devices. • DTR dial “hot dial” (with DCD detection). Dial a pre-stored number in the satellite terminal. • Manual dial. Let the user dial a number manually with the satellite terminal.
