LNB Replacement Instructions LNB Replacement Instructions for a TracVision® Land Mobile Antenna The following instructions explain how to replace the LNB (low-noise block) in a TracVision Land Mobile Antenna. Estimated Time to Complete: ⁄2 Hour 1 Tools Required • Phillips-head screwdriver • Needle-nose pliers 1. Turn off the antenna and remove the appropriate vehicle fuse to disconnect power. Ensure power is removed from both the antenna and the receiver or multiswitch connected to RF1. 2. Remove the 8 screws securing the radome (see Figure 1). Remove the radome and set it aside in a safe place. Before servicing the antenna unit, remove the appropriate vehicle fuse to disconnect power. Ensure power is removed from both the antenna and the receiver or multiswitch connected to RF1. A 1 TracVision Land Mobile Antenna 3. (European systems only) Note the current LNB skew angle (see Figure 2). Remove the top of the LNB clamp and remove the LNB. 7. Place the new LNB in the clamp and reattach the RF cable(s). 8. Replace the LNB clamp: A. For a North American LNB, tighten the clamp fully and skip to Step 10. B. For a European LNB, do not fully tighten the clamp and proceed to Step 9. 9. (European systems only) Carefully turn the LNB so that the scribe mark is aligned with the skew angle that you noted in Step 3 (see Figure 2). Then fully tighten the clamp to complete the replacement process. 10. Replace the vehicle fuse you removed in Step 1 and connect power to the antenna and receiver. The LNB replacement procedure is now complete! IMPORTANT! Before returning the LNB, be sure to obtain an RMA number from KVH’s Technical Support Department and write the number on the outside of the box. Shipments received without an RMA number will be returned to you at your expense. 54-0310 Rev. A 3
