Faucet & fitting technical information Our faucets and fittings are manufactured to the most exacting standards and meet all key plumbing codes. Solid brass faucet spouts – Our hand cast brass spouts are crafted from premium brass alloy, allowing for rich finishing and guaranteeing a lifetime of beauty. There are a number of different brass alloys that can be used to manufacture faucet spouts. Many manufacturers use recycled brass scrap in the production of their product. Our faucets are made from 100% brass alloy. Low lead brass – All our faucets and fittings are made from low lead brass (3%) that is IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials) approved. Valve systems – In line with many other high-end plumbing product suppliers, we use solid brass Fleuhs lavatory valve systems, featuring German-made ceramic disc cartridges that ensure a smooth quarter turn operation and worry free water delivery. Non-corrosive connecting hoses – Based on our research that the connections in stainless steel hoses deteriorate with ammonia-based cleaning products, we use the industry’s leading connecting hoses that feature a liner and a non-corrosive nylon polymer braided hose cover. Hand assembled to exact engineering standards – Hundreds of engineering hours are involved in the creation of our faucets and fittings. All our products are hand-assembled with the highest attention to detail. Solid brass components – All our faucet and fitting components such as handles, escutcheons and trim pieces are engineered from solid and forged brass to exacting standards. Each component is mechanically and hand-tested for solid feel, flawless performance and durability. Pressure balanced shower systems – Our Pressure balanced shower systems feature cast brass valve bodies and industry-leading pressure balancing on/off cartridges for scald and burn free showers. We use pressure balance valves from German manufacturer Grohe. The valves are designed to safely maintain water temperature within a few degrees Fahrenheit, despite fluctuations in the hot/cold water supply. Thermostatic mixing valves – Our thermostatic shower valves use a sophisticated wax thermostat for water temperature regulation. These valves blend hot water (stored a temperatures high enough to kill bacteria) with cold water, to ensure constant, safe outlet temperatures to prevent scalding. It is increasingly common practice around the world to regulate water storage temperatures to above 60 C (140 F), and to circulate or distribute water at a temperature less that 50 C (122 F). Many states or municipalities now require that the temperature of all bath water in new buildings and extensively refurbished properties be controlled at a minimum of 48 C (118 F). Our thermostatic valves ensure that water is delivered at the required temperature and also reduce hot water consumption relative to a supply that is maintained at a lower temperature. Plumbing code compliance - All our faucets and fittings meet the ASME/ANSE A112.18.1, ANSI/ASME 1016, CSA International B125, IAPMO/UPC, NSF 61 plumbing codes and the Energy Policy Act of 1992.
Sustainability Our commitment to Sustainability is represented in our Bath Faucet & Fitting collections. All collections use low-flow aerators ranging from 1.5 GPM to 2.2 GPM. Low flow options are available in some collections. Care Use a soft damp cloth to wipe clean and avoid harsh abrasives as they can corrupt the brilliant finish.
