Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for parts and labour. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to. Follow all instructions and take notice of all warnings to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock. Important Warnings and Cautions! To prevent contact with high voltage components inside, do not attempt to open the cover or the back of the speaker. There are no user-serviceable parts inside this product. Do not repair the unit yourself. Only have it serviced by qualified personnel. Do not expose this product to water, rain or moisture. Do not immerse it water. Do not use it near water or where water splashes or drips. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. Do not put the product near heat sources or in direct sunlight as this may cause the battery to explode. Electrical Safety and Cord Handling • Voltage: Before plugging in the power cord, make sure your outlet voltage and circuit frequency correspond to the voltage stated on the product rating label and the outlet socket is properly earthed and readily accessible. • Electrical circuit: Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or power boards as this can result in a risk of fire of electric shock. • Protect the power adaptor: Do not kink, bend, strain or damage the supply cord and protect it from sharp edges and heat. Do not run the cord near heat-producing appliances such as radiators, stoves or irons. The excessive heat could melt the insulation and expose live wires. • Cord connection: Run the cord in such a way that there will be no risk of anyone pulling it inadvertently, tripping over it or stepping on it. Make sure nothing is placed upon or against the cord. • Damaged cord: If the supply cord is damaged, contact our after sales support centre. A damaged cord must be replaced by qualified personnel in order to avoid a hazard. • Disconnect: Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and disconnect the speaker if it is not going to be used for an extended period of time. When disconnecting, always grip the adaptor, do not pull on the adaptor cord. • Power Adapter: This device will remain on while connected to a live power socket. Usage Conditions and Restrictions • Installation and adjustments: The product must be installed in accordance with local laws. Follow the instructions in this manual when installing and adjusting the product. Only adjust those controls that are covered in this manual, as improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and/or expose you to danger. We assume no liability for any eventual damages caused by improper use or incorrect handling. • Avoid installation in the following locations: • Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances. • Dusty, humid or moist places. • Places subject to constant vibration. • Attachments: Only use attachments sold with the product or recommended by the product distributor. Only use the power adapter that is supplied with this unit. • Usage restriction: This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety. • Children: Supervise young children to ensure they do not play with the product. Children may not comprehend the presence of potential risks. Batteries and small parts represent potential choking hazards. Keep batteries out of reach of children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical help immediately. Keep packaging materials away from children as there is danger of suffocation. Safe Usage • Placement: Place the product on a straight, rigid and stable surface. Do not place anything underneath the product. • Protect from heat and interference: Do not place the product near heat sources such as radiators, stoves or other appliances that produce heat. Keep the unit away from sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors. • Prevent overheating: Place the product in a sufficiently ventilated place. Allow at least 5cm spacing around the unit to prevent overheating. Do not place the product on top of another appliance that may cause overheating (for example, a receiver or amplifier). • Holes, slots and openings: Do not push any objects into holes, slots or openings on the unit. This could result in fatal electric shock. • Handle with care: Press the buttons gently; pressing them too hard can damage the speaker. Do not drop the product or subject it to harsh impacts or excessive vibrations. • Climatic conditions: Take special care when using this product in tropical/ moderate climatic conditions. Turn the unit off, unplug the power plug and contact our after sales support centre for advice. Care and Cleaning • Dusting only: Clean the unit only with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning agents on any part of the product. • Do not open: Do not remove the cover or the back of this product. There are no user-serviceable parts inside this product. • Repair: Do not attempt to repair or service the unit beyond those methods described in this instruction manual. Plug the DC adapter into the wall socket and the other end into your Retro Speaker . 2. Turn the Retro Speaker on by moving the Power switch to On. NOTE: After switching on, the blue LED will flash quickly to indicate it is ready to pair. Pairing the Device 1. Place the Retro Speaker within 10m of the Bluetooth-enabled device. 2. Turn the Power switch to ON. • The blue LED will flash quickly when ready to pair. 3 Follow the instructions of your device to search and connect to the speaker. Now you can select "ARSR-1116" from your Bluetooth enabled device. 4. If a PIN is required, enter "0000." 5. The blue LED becomes solid when pairing is complete. 6. You can control the music selection through your device and the Retro Speaker. NOTE: When connected in Bluetooth mode Press and hold the Mode button to release the currently paired device. Bluetooth playback • Turn the volume control knob clockwise to increase the volume. • Turn the volume control knob anti-clockwise to decrease the volume. • Press ⏯ to Pause or Resume Playback. • Press ⏮ to go to previous track. • Press ⏭ to go to next track. www.tempo.org AUS 1300 886 649 Model: ARSR-1116 Product Code: 55687 11/2016 11 Instructions (Cont.) AUX Input mode 1 Before connecting any devices, ensure that the master volume is low or the unit is turned off. 2 Press the Mode button to switch between Bluetooth mode and AUX In mode. Bluetooth mode is indicated by two short tones. Press the mode button again to enter AUX in mode. 3 The AUX IN port is located on the top right of the Retro Speaker. 4 Connect one end of the included 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to your Retro Speaker and the other end to the earphone socket of an external audio source. (E.g. iPod, MP3 player) 5 Start playing music from the external source. If the problem persists after checking the suggested solutions, please contact our after sales support line for advice. Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. Problem Solution Bluetooth is not pairing The unit will search and connect to the previously connected Bluetooth device automatically. To search and pair a different Bluetooth device, please unpair the previous Bluetooth device first. The unit is at the default low level output. Turn up the volume of the unit. Low sound volume The output volume of the connected Bluetooth device is low. Turn up the volume of the Bluetooth device. Bluetooth has a short connection range There may be a obstruction between the unit and the Bluetooth device. Remove the obstruction. A pause or interruption occurs during normal use There may be a obstruction between the unit and the connected Bluetooth device. Remove the obstruction. The distance between the Retro Speaker and the connected Bluetooth device may exceed the connection range. Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost. We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair. You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process. Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet ALDI’s stringent quality specifications.
