TMS, XERXES.X, XERXES UPGRADE INFORMATION Introduction NEW RMAT 7 The new mat material compliments the outer platter structure interfacing it optimally with the Vinyl record. RMAT-7 presents a ‘stiffer’ support than the original mat at higher frequencies and is sufficiently compliant at lower frequencies with uniform support until the record label area. It has 6 cut-outs in this area to allow the raised record label to ‘drop down’ thus correctly coupling it to the platter. This new mat offers an unprecedented attack in the low frequency range without cluttering the midrange. Voice and midrange are in fact far more open and more natural improving clarity and the impact in this vital area of music. What is more the high frequency extension and clarity brings more life and realism integrating the whole of the music with even better timing.
