M201TG by Beyerdynamic is a sweet dynamic mic, having a super smooth response, and a tighter (hypercardioid) pickup pattern than the usual cardioid offering. Use it for a focussed snare sound, smooth high hats, or to mic up a tambourine that you can sit nicely in the mix. For stage use, M201TG is sensitive enough to pick up a large dynamic range, without picking up the stage spill you'd get from a pencil condenser microphone.
