INSTALLATION GUIDE Ruckus Wireless Home Networking Device GETTING STARTED This guide will help you install the Ruckus Wireless devices. You can then use it to connect your Telstra T-Box to your BigPond Internet connection as an alternative to standard wireless or running an Ethernet between devices. The Ruckus Device Kit contains the following items: • 1 x Ruckus 7811 unit with Grey centre disk on Top • 1 x Ruckus 7111 unit with White centre disk on Top • 2 x Ethernet cables • 2 x black power supply units, one for each Ruckus unit INSTALLATION Refer to diagram below, when following the step by step instructions. Internet Modem/ Gateway Ruckus 7111 grey disc TV T-Box Ruckus 7111 white disc 1. Connect the power supply to the Ruckus 7811 unit, with grey centre disk and plug it into a power point near your modem/gateway. 2. Use one of the supplied Ethernet cables to connect the Ruckus 7811 unit to a spare Ethernet port on your modem/ gateway. 3. Connect the second power supply to the Ruckus 7111 unit, with white centre disk and plug it into a power point near your T-Box. 4. Use one of the supplied Ethernet cables to connect the Ruckus 7111 to the Ethernet port at the back of your T-Box. 5. Turn on the power to both the Ruckus units and wait until all 4 green lights, on both Ruckus units come on. The Ruckus units will do tests to ensure the best performance of the wireless network; this could take up to 10 minutes. All 4 lights will come on when testing is completed. Below is a guide to what the different lights mean. Power Green - Power is connected. Internet Green - Connected to the Internet. Flashing Green - Data is being transmitted or received Wireless Green - Two Ruckus units are connected to each other. Signal Quality Green - Good signal quality Flashing Green - Marginally acceptable signal or missing connection to other unit. 6. If you have been using a Wireless (Wi-Fi) connection for your T-Box, you will need to change your settings to a wired 7. (Ethernet) connection. From your T-Box Main Menu select: Settings -> Internet Connection then choose Connect via Ethernet. If your T-Box does not automatically find the network connection; turn the T-Box off using the power button on your remote, then turn back on.
