RAFI has the experience and products to build the optimum man-machine interface for demanding applications. Depending on the keyboard’s operating conditions and customer’s specific requirements many features and engineering options are available.
KEY FEATURE & IP65 & 2mm brushed stainless steel front plate
Keyboard has all unnecessary keys removed and by adding browser specific ones RAFI has developed a keyboard customised for interactive kiosk applications. The key layout is reduced in size but retains the familiar QWERTY key-block area. The keyboard utilises RAFI’s RK90 discrete-click tactile switch system with solid stainless steel or optional black anodised aluminium. Twelve M5x25mm long studs are provided for panel mounting.

Trackball 38mm diameter available as a solid stainless steel or high quality phenolic ball with mechanical or optional optical encoder. Also available illuminated ball in a variety of colours for an eye catching option. Sealing is provided by a full floating, self lubricating seal providing effortless cursor tracking.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
RAFI’s stainless steel rugged keyboards are designed and manufactured in the UK utilising the RACON12 military grade switch specifically for use in the most hostile environments. Our stainless steel rugged keyboards are used in kiosks sited in unsupervised areas or for extra protection anywhere. The keyboards are available in both panel mount and housed versions* offering the combined benefits of extra robust construction, enhanced data input and attractive appearance. The keyboards utilise all stainless steel front end components to resist sustained attacks from vandals as well as accidental damage such as spilt drinks. Along with the reduced key set is the ‘ browser mouse button’ which has been added to enable easy scrolling of viewed pages. The specially designed key-caps are secured by a protective front plate to stop inadvertent removal and the PCB switches are also protected against impact by their own built in ‘shock absorbers’ by an internal support plate preventing switch over-travel.

To enable easy integration into metal, plastic, or wooden kiosks six M5 x 25mm long studs are provided for panel mounting the unit. Connection to the host is via a 2 metre long straight data cable.
