RICHMOND MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION RMHA Spring Classic Atom-Peewee A & C Tournament RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE TOURNAMENT GENERAL RULES: All rules as set forth by C.H.A., B.C.A.H.A., P.C.A.H.A., President’s League and the conditions established by Richmond Minor Hockey for this tournament. Special Notice to all Participants: (a) Any player receiving 2 misconduct penalties or 2, five minute majors will be suspended from further play in the tournament. (b) Any player or bench personnel who received a gross or match penalty will automatically be suspended from further play in the tournament TEAM ROSTER: All teams must have permission from their Governing Body (i.e. P.C.A.H.A.) for entry into the tournament. All players must meet eligibility criteria for entry into the tournament. You must provide approved Official Hockey Canada Roster (HCR) for Canadian Teams and for USA teams an USA Hockey official Team Roster. All Affiliate players must be listed on the team roster that each team provides to the tournament committee prior to the tournament start date. All affiliate must fall under the PCAHA guidelines. Emergency call up will be at discretion of the tournament committee. GAME LINE UPS: The coach/manager shall report to the Tournament Office to fill out,verify and sign game sheets as per roster submissions, at least 30 minutes before game time. START TIMES/FORFEITS: Teams should be prepared to go on the ice at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. Any team not ready to start 10 minutes after the designated start time shall forfeit the game by a score of 5-0. The team ready to play will be awarded 2 points for a win plus 1 sportsmanship point (in round robin play). If both teams are unable to start the game within 10 minutes after the designated start time, then 0 points will be awarded to
each team. Each team must have a minimum of 5 skaters (goalie not included) to start a Tournament game. GAME TIMES: Game times consist of: (a) 5 minute warm-up; (b) 15 minute stop time for the 1st and 2nd periods; and (c) 3rd period stop time equal to have the remaining allotted time (to a maximum of 15 minutes). Mercy rule in effect. We will be using a maximum 5 goal difference rule for standing. The scoreboard is not to display any goal differential of greater than 5 goals. If the goal spread between the competing team reaches 5, running time commence until such time as the spread is reduce to 4 at which time will once again commence. Minor penalties under running time shall be 3-minute running time. STANDING FOR ROUND ROBIN PLAY: This will be determined as follows: (a) (b) (c) (d)
Win equals 2 points; Tie equals 1 point; Loss equals 0 points; and Sportsmanship equals 1 point (*)
* Atom - 6 minutes or less in penalty time * PeeWee – 8 minutes or less in penalty time TIED STANDINGS: The tie breaker criteria after round robin play will be as follows: 1st Head to Head (if applicable) 2nd Most Wins 3nd Goal difference (capped at a maximum of 5 per game) 4rd Fewest Losses 5th Least Goals Against 6th Least Penalty Minutes 7th Coin toss PLAY OFF SERIES TIEBREAKER: COACHES MUST SUBMIT IN WRITING THE ORDER OF PLAYERS THAT WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN A POTENTIAL SHOOTOUT BEFORE ALL PLAYOFF GAMES TO SPEED UP FINISHING THE GAME DUE TO ICE LIMITATIONS. NO PLAYER SHALL SHOOT MORE THAN ONCE UNLESS

ALL OTHER PLAYERS (EXCLUDING GOALIES) HAVE SHOT IN THEIR RESPECTIVE ROSTER. If a playoff game is tied after regulation time there will be a five (5)-minute running time sudden death overtime, each team will play with 4 skaters and a goalie. Penalties occurring in regulation time will be carried over into the overtime. In the event that no goal is scored during the overtime the winner will be determined by a “shoot-out”. Each Coach will select three (3) players from their respective teams. Players will alternate shots whereby the first player selected from the Visiting Team shoots on the Home Team Goalie. The team with the LEAST goals scored on them at the end of the three (3) shooters per side will be declared the Game Winner. If there is a tie after first three (3) shooters has gone. It becomes a sudden death single shooter from each Team, until a winner is declared. SCOREKEEPING/TIMEKEEPING: Although we make every effort to supply scorekeepers/timekeepers each team may be required to provide a scorekeeper for their game. PROTESTS/COMPLAINTS – APPEALS: Scheduling constraints do not provide for the replay of any games or portion thereof. As such, the decision(s) of the referees and minor officials such as scorekeepers, timekeepers shall be final. NO PROTESTS, ENTERTAINED.
