C 1 acta 332 East Lakewood Blvd. Holla nd, M I 49424 616-392-3400 -20 Hearing Loop Receiver Ins tr uctions for using your Hearing Loop Receiver: For those who do no t have a T coil in their hearing aid and or no b earing aid. 1. Th e receiver has been loaded with 2 AAA alkaline batteries and has passed q uality control testing. To change the batteries, carefully slide open the battery co mpartment door nd lift out the batteries. Follow the illustration in the compartment to insert the new batteries correctly. When rep lacing the cover note th at the latch needs to be s napped back into position, locking the battery do or shut. For best performance always use al kaline batteries. 2. Pl ug headphones in the jack at the top of the receiver, and place headphones over both ears. 3. Slowly turn volume control until it cl icks "on." The receive r's LED light will stay ill uminated while in the on position. To maximize battery life, always turn off the receiver when it is not in use. 4. Adjust volume control to a comfortabl e sound level. For best recepti on, most hearing loop systems will require a more or less vertical/upri ght receiver orie ntatio n. Experiment by changing the positi on of the receive r while listening. 5. The receiver must be positioned in a vertical/upright posi tion when testi ng a floor, wall or ceiling mounted loop system. For more exact measurements or additional test equipment, call Contacta. The FSM Loop Test Set is recom mended for certi fyi ng loop installations per lEe 60118 standard. 6. Noise Fi1ter: In enviro nments with high levels of low freq uency (60 Hz) electromagnetic noise, the receivers "noise filter" fu nction may be employed. Access the noi e filter fea ture by rem ovi ng the battery door and locating the switch above the batteries in the mid dle of the ba ttery compartment. Note: If the unit will not be used for lo ng periods of ti me, remove the battery to stop it fro m discharging and/or leaking and damaging the Receiver.
