CNG Vent Line
Inspect the flexible vent line adjacent to the turbo exhaust pipe. If no damage exist reroute per instructions below. If the flexible vent line has been damaged, replace and route per instructions below. [WARNING] Always follow all Federal, State, Local, and Shop safety standards and use proper safety equipment when performing these procedures.
INSPECTION 1 Park vehicle on a level surface, apply parking brake, turn engine off, remove ignition key and chock wheels.
5 Move flexible vent line forward to inspect pipe for possible damage from rubbing.
2 Open engine door and place the rear switch in the OFF or NON RUN position. 3 Wait until the engine and turbo exhaust pipe have cooled to ambient temperature. [CAUTION] The pipe is wrapped and may retain heat for a longer period of time; therefore, additional cooling time may be required.
4 Open right side engine compartment door for access to CNG flexible vent line.
Flexible vent line damage 5.1 Even if the pipe has not been damaged and the existing routing is as shown, proceed with the rerouting of the vent line.
5.2 If the vent line has been damaged, replace with new line and route davenport section per following instructions.

Remove CNG flexible vent line.
2.1 Disconnect the vent line from the vertical vent pipe. 2.2 Remove and retain the 1 1/4” pipe union from the vent line for reinstallation on new flexible vent pipe. 2.3 On the davenport, remove and retain the mounting bracket, u-bolt and saddle supporting the flexible vent line. 2.4 Locate and remove all the remaining fasteners and clamps that attach the flexible vent line to the chassis frame. 2.5 Locate the second 1 1/4” pipe union connection in the center of the chassis frame, rear of fuel tank. Disconnect the flexible vent line from the solid vent pipe.
3 After the union and all attaching hardware have been removed, remove the flexible vent line from the bus. Note: Recommend that a second technician assist in removing the vent line from the bus. 4 With the assistance of the second technician, install new line in same location as original line from the horizontal line rear of fuel tank to davenport. 5
Install the 1 1/4” pipe union removed in step 2.6 above.
6 From the connection rear of fuel tank to the davenport, install all the clamps and hardware removed in step 2.4 above. 7 In the davenport area, install CNG flexible vent line per diagram on page 5. 6.1 Install the flexible vent line mounting bracket. 6.2 Route the new CNG flexible vent line in the davenport area as shown in diagram. 6.3 Install u-bolt and saddle (removed in step 2.3) and additional clamp(s). 6.4 Install 1 1/4 pipe union (removed in step 2.2) onto end of new flexible vent pipe.
