1 INTRODUCTION This document describes how to setup a dial-up connection with MAC OS. Configurations and settings for other operating systems (Windows 2000 and XP) are available in the manual “Getting started.pdf”, while for Windows® Vista are in the manual “SAMBA75_Vista_Install_Guide.pdf“.
1.1 Make a dial up connection with MAC OS Please, make sure you use a SIM-card with deactivated PIN before starting with the next steps.
To setup a dial-up connection with MAC OS, please follow the steps below: 1. Download the “Samba 75 script” file from the Falcom homepage and copy it into the Library>Modem Scripts location onto the Mac PC hard drive. 2. Set the Location via the Apple menu to “Automatic” mode.
3. Open “Network” in the “System Preferences” window, and plug in the SAMBA75 modem. Follow the on-screen instructions. If you are not logged in as administrator the computer will ask for the administrator password at this point.

4. Set-up a new dial-up connection by clicking on the “Configure...” button. Select the PPP tab and enter the name of your Service Provider e.g. “Mobile Internet”, the Dial-Up number, your account name and password as shown in fig.3 below. Please note: If your provider does not provide you with a username and password and you have connection problems please enter “any” “any” as username and password.
Attention:
Telephone Number is the APN of your provider. In the example „internet“ for o2 Germany.

5. For more detailed adjustments, click on "PPP Options..." at the bottom of this tab. Please do not check any other selections here!
6. Next, select the “Modem” tab, choose the SAMBA 75 modem and set the Dialing mode to “Tone”.

7. To start a dialing process, click on the “Dial Now...“ button at the bottom of the “PPP” tab.
8. Before you start the connection make sure that the telephone number is really set to your providers APN name.
