Assembling a) Make sure to take all components from the box and ensure nothing is damaged. b) Assure the sand filter pump is placed on level solid ground and let pump’s Ports and Control Valve accessible for operation with the pool. c) Select the right type of filter sand, Only use special pool-grade filter sand and free of all limestone or clay: Silica sand 0.7--1.25 mm, approximately 20kg. Note: The smaller diameter’s sands will reduce filtering performance and could damage the sand filter pump. Step 1 Assemble the tank with the pedestal (See fig.1) and circumrotate by clockwise until tied in. (See fig.2) Fig.1 Fig.2 A. Site Requirements Assure the sand filter pump is placed on level solid ground and accessible for operation with the pool. IMPORTANT: Due to the combined weight of the pump, water, and sand, it is extremely important that the base where the pump is installed is smooth, flat, level and capable of uniformly supporting this weight for the entire duration of the installatin and use of the pump. Otherwise, any damage caused by improper support will void the warranty. It is the responsibility of the pump owner to select the suitable site at all times. d)Put and center the Connector Hub in the Tank (See fig. 3 &4), and then center the tundish. (See fig. 5) B. Multi-functions of pump a) Correctly use the TOP Control Valve Please see the illustration on the right, press down the Top Control Valve’s handle and rotate to the desired function. Warning:Cut off the sand filter pump’s power supply or unplug the pump before changing the Top Control Valve function every time. If you change the valve positions when the pump is running, it could damage the pump or cause personal injury. Fig.3 Fig.4 b) Multi-functions The Control Valve includes 6 Different functions: Rinse, Filter, Waste , Circulation, Backwash & Closed. f1.Rinse f2.Backwash f3.Waste f4.Circulation f5.Filter f6.Closed Step 2 Slowly add the sand to the tank through the tundish.(See fig. 6) Fig.5 Fig.6 Rinse function (f1): This function is for startup. Water is downwards through the sand bed and up through the Connector Hub, discharged from the Port D (on page 7) at last. Rinse function releases all the air in the pump. This is particularly important for preventing the motor from overheating. Backwash function (f2): This function uses to clean the sand bed and discharges water from Port D. Water goes down through the Connector Hub and upwards through the sand bed. Step 3 Remove the tundish, assemble the Control Valve with the Tank, ensuring the O-ring is in place on the rim of the Tank. (See fig. 7) For securely sealing, make sure the O-ring is clean, dry, with no sand and without any damage. Step 4 Attach the Top Flange Clamp and screw into position. (See fig. 8) Make sure Port C on the Control Valve is aligned with Port C on the Pump before tightening the screw. (See fig. 9) Waste function (f3): This function is for draining water from pool; water goes through and is discharged from Port D. 4 www.jilong.com SFP2-11-GB(V3) 5 www.jilong.com SFP2-11-GB(V3) 2015 2015 Fig.7 1. Do not use solvents to clean the product, solvents may damage material or plastic components. Make sure the product is completely clean and dry before storing. Step 6 Backwashing and Rinsing (For startup) Fig.11 G. Trouble shooting Here are some helpful tips to help you to diagnose and rectify common sources of problems. Problems Sand is flowing to the pool Excessive filter pressure 1.Switch the Top Control Valve to the Closed function and make sure that the pump is UNPLUGGED. 2.Select one conformable Hose (We have two hoses with different diameter. Select the one which matches the pool’s outlet.). Connect the chosen hose to pump’s port B, and attach the other end to the pool’s Outlet B. Tighten the hose clamp on correct position. Remove the Stopper Plug from the pool’s Outlet B, and insert Debris Screen supplied with your pool kit (if any). 3.Connect the other Hose to Port D and place the opposite end to the drain area. (See fig. 11) 4.Please refer to pool’s owner manual for filling instructions to ensure that the water reaches the required level. (Water level should be higher than the pump, otherwise, the air inside of pump can not be fully released, which will lead to ”DRY RUN” of the motor) WARNING: DO NOT DRY RUN THE PUMP IF ANY AIR INSIDE! 5.After filling the pool’s water, you can press down the Top Control Valve handle and rotate to the Backwash function. 6.Insert the plug into a residual current device (RCD) or a circuit of alternative residual power (for France only) and run the sand filter for 2-4 minutes until the water runs clear. 7.Cut off the power supply or unplug the sand filter pump, press down the Top Control Valve handle and rotate to the Rinse function. 8.Turn-on the power supply or insert the plug and let the sand filter pump run 1 minute. This circulates water backwards through the sand filter and drains water out of Port D. 9.Cut off the power supply or unplug the sand filter pump. Press down the Top Control Valve handle and rotate to the Closed function. Control Valve leaks Connectors leaks Probable Causes Sand is too small Sand bed is calcified Dirty filter Calcified sand bed Insufficient backwashing Control Valve is set between two functions Solutions Recommend 0.7mm to 1.25mm silica sand Change sand Backwash: Inspect sand and change if necessary Backwash until effluent runs clear Set to one function Switch adatpor not in place Hoses Loosened Replace it in the right position Tighten them H.
