Saturday 4th November 1.30pm-4.30pm 2016 Winners - Belhaven Tournament Rules All players must be U11 on 1st September 2017. There are two pools of 4 teams with teams playing each other once. The finishing order of each team will be decided by the number of Match Points (3 for a win, 1 for a draw). In the event of two or more teams having the same number of match points the order will be decided by: (A) The team that won the game in the head to head fixture in the pool. If this was a draw, then… (B) Points differential; Then (C) Greater number of tries scored; Then (D) The toss of a coin. After the pool matches, the teams ranked 1st and 2nd in each pool will contest in the main competition for the Stewart Cup. The 3rd and 4th teams in each pool will contest for the Cargilfield Plate. Details of the draw and schedule are opposite. Starts and Restarts A tap and pass will start the game and thereafter the team who have conceded will restart with a tap and pass. Two passes must be made before a score. The defending team may not move until the first pass has been completed. The first receiver may move forward and then attempt to pass the ball. There will be no cavalry charge. Scrums 3 v 3. The attacking scrum half must pass and the defending scrum half must allow this pass by not coming past the tunnel of the scrum. Only the hookers may strike for the ball. No pushing or wheeling. The backline of the 3 remaining players from each team must be 5m back from the scrum. Two passes must be made before a score. The first receiver may move forward and then attempt to pass the ball. Touch Tap and pass restart to the team who did not carry the ball out. There will be no lineouts. Kicking Kicking is allowed from behind the defending team’s 5m line. No fly-hacking is permitted. Open Play Players must carry the ball in two hands. No hand-offs. Defending players must not target the ball and must attempt to tackle from the waist down. The following competition rules will also apply: 1. All pool matches shall last five minutes each way. No extra time will be played. 2. A try will be worth 1 point. There are no conversions. 3. The Semi-Finals and Final shall last six minutes each way. In the event of a draw at the end of normal time, the match will go into ‘Golden Try’ time. The captains will do a toss and the winner will elect to start with the ball or choose an end. The teams will swap ends every 5 minutes and the restart will be made by the team who didn’t make the restart in the previous period. The winner will be the first team to score a try. 4. The 7th/8th Playoff and 3rd/4th Playoff will not have a Golden Try if the match is tied after normal time. 5. All matches have a one minute half time. 6. On Pitch 3, there is a very short dead-ball line to encourage the players to get the ball down as soon as possible. If a player crosses the dead-ball line on Pitch 3 within the width of the pitch and the grounding is good, the try will still be awarded. 7. Substitutes may be allowed in ties at any stage provided the referee is informed. 8. If a player is ordered off the field a team shall be reduced for the remainder of the match. The removed player will be allowed to participate in subsequent matches. 9. In the event of a clash of colours the first named team in that tie will change. 10. In all other matters the decisions of the Competition Organisers are final. All other SRU P6 laws apply.
