The LEJ640FT flatbed UV printer is the latest, greatest addition to the award-winning VersaUV series from Roland. Delivering unparalleled 1440 dpi printing capabilities and superior compatibility, the LEJ-640FT offers the widest range of substrates, including heavy, rigid materials up to 6 inches thick and weighing up to 220 pounds. With the addition of White and Clear Coat ECO-UV inks for dimensional effects, the LEJ-640FT can produce graphics that are ‘anything but flat.’ The LEJ-640FT enables printing on a wide range of substrates, including foam boards, Sintra, acrylic, cardboard, plywood, MDF, heat- and pressure-sensitive media and everything else in between with exceptional image quality. The LEJ-640FT uses ECO-UV inks available in CMYK, White, and Clear. Instant-drying and flexible, ECO-UV inks produce prints that can be stretched and applied around curved surfaces and edges without cracking. With long-lasting, highly energy-efficient UV LED lamps, our state-of-the-art curing system instantly adheres ink to substrates. For added flexibility, the optional Eco-UV S inks expand up to 200 percent—and are perfect for thermoforming and shrink packaging applications. Roland’s unique automated Ink Circulation System circulates the white ink in the LEJ-640FT to prevent the settling of pigments in the lines. This system also controls the discharge of white ink, reducing ink waste minimizing manual maintenance. The LEJ-640FT features an energy efficient UV LED curing system that produces no ozone and requires no warm-up time. “Success is the ability, first, to recognize opportunity; second, to form plans and strategies that leverage opportunity; and, third, to develop the necessary skills needed to execute those strategies.” -Gary Ryan Blair, Motivator 9045 Maier Road, Suite A Laurel, MD 20723 200 Route 31 North, Suite 109 Flemington, NJ 08822 2400 W. RET-1501 59” Free Standing Electric Trimmer $2,999.99 RET-2001 78” Free Standing Electric Trimmer $3,499.99 RET-2501 98” Free Standing Electric Trimmer $3,899.99 Are you having cutting issues? Have you noticed a decrease in cutting accuracy? We can help! There are four things that can typically be causing that issue and the great news is this: They are all easy for you to correct! Broken blade tip Settings need adjusting-- offset and/or force Damaged Cutter Protection Strip Blade holder that needs replacing The #1 reason is typically improper blade exposure (meaning too much blade sticking out) in the standard blade holder. Incorrect blade exposure can cause premature blade wear and almost unusable cut jobs due to ragged edges and incomplete cutting in areas. A broken blade cannot get the job done. blade exposed= Additionally, if there is not enough the thickness blade exposed, it may result in no of a fingernail cutting. Please refer to this diagram for correct blade installation-- the amount of blade sticking out should typically not be more than the thickness of your fingernail. ‘Less is best,’ in this case! Another reason for inaccurate cutting can be the changing of the OFFSET value. For example, when it comes to Roland blades, the blade packaging acutally makes note of which offset should be used. When using the standard 45 degree blades, offset should read 0.25 cm and when using a 60 degree blade, the offset should read 0.5 cm for *some* Roland 60 degree blades. If you notice when you cut small squares or rectangles, the corners are not sharp 90 degree angles, slow down your cut speed and check that you have the correct blade and its offset value. Using a 60 degree blade with the incorrect 0.25 cm offset will result in rounded squares. Let’s address the cutter protection strip. It is the white teflon strip that your plotter or printer/plotter is contour cutting on, and it spans the width of the bed of your machine. If you can visually see a groove in you cutter protection strip or can feel that it is noteven and uniformly flat, it is time for a new one. A cutter protection strip may go bad becuase of excessive cut force or excessive blade exposure- managing both factors will improve performance. Then there is the blade holder, and a couple things can potentially be going wrong here, too. You want to keep this piece working properly-- keep the nose cone clean of adhesive and vinyl. This will ensure easy swiveling. You do not want there to be any drag on the actual face of the nose cone. As a result, you might also see incomplete cutting in tight areas. Usually this results in a plotters swivel blade moving so fast that it cannot properly enter a tight 45 degree or sharper cut, and the result is a slight skip in the cutting process that can lead to imperfect finished jobs. A quick fix is to slow you plotter down and help it enter and exit the cutting area more accurately. And as always, you are not alone.
