No. 514 Sawing plasterboard A Description This application example describes the sawing of plasterboard using a plunge-cut saw. Plasterboard: comprises burnt plaster and cellulose fibres which are obtained from paper during a recycling process. These two natural raw materials are mixed and after adding water - without additional bonding material - are pressed into stable panels using high pressure, are dried and then impregnated with a water-resistant agent. 514/01 1/4 Gypsum plasterboard: essentially panels comprising plaster, whose area is coated with an adhesive special board corresponding to the intended use. Cement-bonded chipboard: flat press boards with a certain cement element for diverse internal and external applications. Note: For materials with a high cement element the AXT 50 LA must be used. B Tools/Accessories You will need the following tools and accessories for cutting a cable duct: Designation Order No. TS 55 EBQ Plus 561162 Cover ABSA-TS 55 491750 Guide rail FS 1900 492503 Universal saw blade 160x2.2x20 W28 496302 Fastening clamps FSZ 120 489570 Lever clamps FS-HZ 160 491594 Mobile dust extractor CLEANTEX CTM 26 583848 514/02 514/03 514/05 514/04 514/06 Note! Optimal extraction results are achieved by using the cover ABSA-TS 55, Order No. 491750 514/07 2/4 Previous procedure Problem: Cutting using a handsaw: Time-consuming and energy-sapping, inaccurate cut. Scratching and breaking: inaccurate and energy-sapping. As soon as the panel edges are shaped as external corners or visible edges, they must be replaned. Solution: Using the plunge-cut saw, a guide rail and a dust extractor, the aforementioned materials can be cut to size quickly and cleanly. 514/08 C Preparation/Set-up Adjusting the portable circular saw on the guide rail 1. Adjust the guidance jaws 1 at the saw table of the portable circular saw on the guide rail using a screwdriver and ensure there is no backlash. 514/09 2. Set the portable circular saw to a cutting depth scale of 15 mm deep. 514/10 Saw the splinterguard along the entire length of the rail using speed setting 6. The cutting edge is now the guide edge and scribe mark. 514/11 List This list shows what materials can be processed using the plunge-cut saw TS 55 EB.
