If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that the Stealthbox® be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems: 1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s). 2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision or sudden deceleration.

POWER RECOMMENDATION JL Audio recommends high quality amplifiers such as the JL Audio XD600/1v2. The diagram below shows the recommended crossover settings for the XD600/1v2. For a detailed description of the amplifier settings, consult the owner’s manual for the amplifier. If another amplifier is being used, please reference this illustration and use similar settings on that amplifier.
CONNECTIONS Using quality power, signal, and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®. JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XD-PCS4-1B for your Stealthbox® amplifier. Other kits are available should you be using more than one amplifier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium Audio Interconnect Cables should be used to provide signal for both channels of the amplifier. JL Audio recommends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers such as our XC-BCS12-25. Page 2 • JL Audio, Inc., 2016

Empty out the back seat area.
Attach two Enclosure Brackets to the threaded inserts on the Stealthbox® using a pair of 1/4 - 20 x 1-1/2” Hex Drive Bolts as shown.

Fold the rear seats up to access the factory subwoofer enclosure.
Repeat for the opposite side.

Unclip the bolt covers and remove the three bolts holding in the enclosure.
Fold the driver’s side rear seat down and align the Stealthbox® with the edge of the inner side of the seat. In 2015 models, the plastic storage divider panel can be removed to allow the Stealthbox® to slide completely under the seat, if desired.

Unplug and remove the enclosure.
Slide a Wax Square under each of the Enclosure Brackets as shown.

Repeat for the opposite side.
Slide a 3/8” Flat Washer over a 3/8 - 16 x 1-3/4” Hex Bolt, and drop the assembly through each bracket and hole in the floor.

Press down firmly on the Stealthbox® to leave impressions of the Enclosure Brackets on the Wax Squares. Remove the enclosure, leaving the Wax Squares stuck to the floor. Remove the Enclosure Brackets from the Stealthbox®.
From under the vehicle, place a 3/8” Fender Washer, a 3/8” Split Lock Washer, and a 3/8” Hex Nut on each of the 3/8 - 16 x 1-3/4” Hex Bolts, and firmly tighten.

Align an Enclosure Bracket with each of the impressions in the Wax Squares, and mark the hole location as shown.
Put the Stealthbox® back into the vehicle and secure the Enclosure Brackets to the enclosure with a pair of 1/4 - 20 x 1-1/2” Hex Drive Bolts as shown.

Using a 3/8” drill bit, drill through the hole locations marked in the previous step.
Repeat for the opposite side. Connect speaker cable to the terminal cup on the Stealthbox® and route as necessary.
Before drilling, always make sure that you are not going to be drilling into any gas lines, brake lines, tires, transmission lines, electrical wiring, exhaust systems or anything else that might cause a reduction in your weekly pay. CONGRATULATIONS!
Align the Trim Panel with the Stealthbox®. Lift the carpet flap to access the hole in the panel. Using a 1/8” drill bit, drill through the hole in the Trim Panel and into the Stealthbox® as shown.
You have completed the installation for this model! Enjoy your new Stealthbox®!
STEP 18 Secure the Trim Panel to the Stealthbox® with a #8 x 1” Self Tap Screw.
STEP 19 Fold the carpeted flap back down to conceal the screw, and fold the seat back down.
