SDC 3000 D SDC 3000 D—Delegate Console The SDC 3000 D is an extremely easy-to-use Delegate Console. It features a built-in loudspeaker and fixed electret microphone, ensuring excellent sound reproduction throughout the entire conference room. The unit is controlled via the MIC key. By pressing this key, for example, the participant can activate the microphone or “apply” to take the floor. A red LED ring on the microphone indicates who is allowed to take the floor or who has applied for a comment. In Voting Mode, the unit’s three keys are assigned yes/no/abstain. A simple change in configuration at the SDC 3000 CU central unit is all that is needed to turn the delegate unit into a chairperson unit. Two control keys, which are otherwise inactive, will be assigned special functions. Features—Benefits • Conference terminal with built-in electret microphone and loudspeaker • Gooseneck microphone with LED ring which indicates status • Microphone key with LED • Terminal can be used as a delegate unit or – by altering the configuration – as a chairperson unit • Voting function (yes/no/abstain) • Headphone output (fixed volume) Technical Data 1) Microphone 2) Red signal ring 3) Loudspeaker 4) In conference mode: P2 key * In voting mode: NO key 5) In conference mode: P1 key* In voting mode: YES key 6) In conference mode: MIC key In voting mode: ABSTAIN key 7) Red LED 8) Headphone connection, 3.5 mm jack socket 9) 8-pole socket (IN) 10) 6-pole socket (OUT) * (only operative when configured as a chairperson unit) Frequency response (microphone): 150 Hz–14 kHz Pick-up pattern: Cardioid Headphone connector: 3.5 mm mono ( >= 32Ohm ) Power supply: 20 to 33 V DC Max. power consumption: approx. 3 W Temperature range: +5 to +50 °C AF frequency response: 150 Hz to 14 kHz Headphone impedance: ≥ 32 W Operating temperature: +5.....+50 °C Dimensions: 7.6"w x 18.5"h x 6.9"d Weight: 1.6 lbs. SDC 3000 D Delivery Includes 1 SDC 3000 D with fixed gooseneck microphone Optional Accessories Each SDC 3000D connects to other SDC 3000D or SDC 3000DC units in a daisy chain fashion with the following cable length options: SDC CBL2 Cable– 2m length SDC CBL3 Cable– 3m length SDC CBL5 Cable– 5m length SDC CBL10 Cable– 10m length SDC CBL20 Cable– 20m length SDC CBL50 (unterminated) Cable– 50m length SDC CBL80 Cable– 80m length SDC 6 PIN Right angle, 6 PIN DIN, "OUT" SDC 8 PIN Right angle, 8 PIN DIN, "IN" Note: Cable is 6-conductor shielded with polarized plugs Determining Maximum Cable Lengths 1. Only one 80m cable can be used in each string 2. The total length of the string must not exceed 230m SDC 3000 D connection for daisy chain 3. Cables of varying lengths can be used within each string provided that the voltage at the end of the string is >20V To calculate the voltage drop, use the following formula: 4 mV x 10m x 25 – 1.0V Calculate the voltage drops for all cables of your planned string, then total. Example: 25 conference terminals are connected to a central unit. The length of the cable between the central unit and the first conference terminal is 80 m and the length of the cable between the conference terminals is always 3 m. Connectors IN and OUT The following voltage drops result: 80 m to the first conference terminal: 4 mV x 80 x 25 = 8.0 V 3 m between 1st and 2nd conference terminal: 4 mV x 3 x 24 = 0.288 V 3 m between 2nd and 3rd conference terminal: 4 mV x 3 x 23 = 0.276 V etc. 3 m between 24th and 25th conference terminal: 4 mV x 3 x 1 = 0.012 V Total of all voltage drops: 11.6 V If we subtract the total of the voltage drops (11.6 V) from the power supply voltage (33 V), we obtain the following voltage at the last conference terminal: 33 V - 11.6 V = 21.4 V This voltage must be higher than 20 V! If the voltage is lower than 20 V at the last conference terminal, you must either use shorter cables in this cable string or connect less conference terminals.
