VENTURA VS811-SM-48 / VS811-SD-48 SDI/ASI multiplexer/demultiplexer for SONET/SDH KEY FEATURES OVERVIEW • Integrated solution for multi-channel The VS811-Sx-48 multiplexer and digital video over OC-48c or STM-16 network tributary • Enable/disable control for mux input channels • Optional single or dual optical outputs at mux with optional single or dual optical receivers at demux for path diversity with automatic protection switching • Compliant with the SONET/SDH protocols, including dynamic pointer justifications • Maintains synchronization without external timing source • Optional selectable test pattern generation on loss of video for each channel: color bars, PLL pathological, equalizer pathological and black field R0925 demultiplexer are used in applications that require transport of a mix of signals over OC-48c/STM-16 network infrastructures. They automatically detect and transport SD-SDI, SDTI and DVB-ASI. HD-SDI can be transported using the VS901-TAx-27 JPEG 2000 compression card. This product is ideal for use in trunking and aggregation of signals over SONET/SDH networks. Nevion offers an enhanced version of this card that transports one HD and two SD over SONET/SDH. For further information, please refer to the VS811-SHx-48 data sheet. nevion.com VENTURA VS811-SM-48 / VS811-SD-48 SDI/ASI multiplexer/demultiplexer for SONET/SDH OC-48c CH1 CH2 SFP CH3 SDI (SMPTE-259M) SDTI (SMPTE-305M) DVB-ASI (EN50083-9) APD Rcv’r CH4 1310/1550/DWDM CH5 1310/1550/DWDM CH6 SONET/SDH Network SFP CH7 CH8 CH1 CH2 SFP CH3 CH4 SDI (SMPTE-259M) SDTI (SMPTE-305M) CH5 DVB-ASI (EN50083-9) CH6 APD Rcv’r SFP CH7 CH8 STM-16 RS422 RS422 VS811-SM-48 VS811-SD-48 F eatures • Removes timing and alignment jitter from the 270Mbps signals at the demux output • Automatic cable equalization up to 300m at 270Mbps VS811-SM-48 • Small Formfactor Pluggable (SFP) optics provide efficient use of space, available in 1310, 1550 and any ITU CWDM or DWDM wavelengths SDI 1 VS811-SM-48 Channel #1 Input Primary SC Fiber Output #1 CH1 • Auxiliary RS422 channel for inband management SDI 2 Channel #2 Input CH2 CH3 • NEBS Level 3 compliant for reliable performance in harsh environments CH4 SDI 3 Secondary SC Fiber Output #2 (optional) CH5 CH6 Channel #3 Input SDI 4 CH7 CH8 1 2 Channel #4 Input RS422 Input OC-48c SDI 5 Channel #5 Input SDI 7 Channel #7 Input SDI 6 DC Channel #6 Input SDI 8 Channel #8 Input External Alarm Relay ALARM RELAY Front panel R0925 Rear connector VENTURA VS811-SM-48 / VS811-SD-48 S p ecifications video F ormats Input formats Impedance Data rate Cable eq F R ont Pane l L E D I ndicators SDI (SMPTE-259M) SDTI (SMPTE-305M) DVB-ASI (EN50083-9) 75 Ohm 270 Mbps ± 100ppm 300m with Belden 8281 M u l ti p l exer and demu l ti p l exer V ideo interfaces Standard Mux video inputs Demux video outputs SDI, SDTI, ASI 8 x 270Mbps 8 x 270Mbps M u l ti p l exer and demu l ti p l exer network interfaces OC-48 STM-16 STS-48c; ANSI, T1.105 STM-16; ITU-Rec G.707 O p tica l transmitter # of outputs Connector Data rate Laser type Laser wavelengths Output power level Fiber type Normally open relay contacts.
