Hub SDP WALL MOUNTING POWER CONTROL SYSTEM
Technical Specification Sheet
DESCRIPTION
OVERALL SPECIFICATIONS
The Jands Hub SDP combines 12 contactor/dimmers and 12 power distribution outlets in a high density wall mount chassis intended for use in any performance space or multi-function venue. The Hub SDP recognises improvements in lighting technology and ‘Green’ building design requirements and also allows venues to efficiently control a mixed inventory of LED and traditional fixtures along with moving lights and data infrastructure.

The Hub SDP has been designed for simplicity and ease of use. The high brightness display ensures the product is easy to use in dark environments, current control algorithms reduce the instance of circuit breaker drop-outs due to cold lamp inrush, while dual speed-controlled fans, high performance mains filtering, and a soft over-temperature cut-out eliminate problems before they appear to the operator. Extensive support for DMX-512 RDM is provided. The Hub SDP is packaged in a high density format that minimises the required wall space. Multiple units can be stacked horizontally on common mounting rails. A companion output patch field is available in the same form factor.
FEATURES 12 fully controllable dimmer/contactor
channels and 12 power distribution in one chassis Contactor/dimmer circuits can be configured to dim or switch under DMX control, or be hard on or off. Automatic contactor control reduces heat load when dimming Synchronous contactor control extends contactor life Inbuilt RCD per phase Overcurrent circuit breaker per channel LED indicators and configuration switches per channel Extensive RDM support Active filters ensure stable dimming output Temperature controlled DC fans Simple installation Extremely high density allows high channel counts to be installed in a small area Companion output patch system available

The Hub SDP integrates 12 fully controllable contactor/dimmer circuits, 12 power distribution circuits, 24 channel circuit breakers, 3 master RCDs, plus standard DMX controller in the one chassis. The power distribution channels can be used for LED fixtures, moving lights, data infrastructure and other hardware, while the fully controllable circuits include both dimming and contactor elements enabling full remote control of most single phase mains loads. The Hub SDP is fitted with RCD protection per phase.
Hub SDP WALL MOUNTING POWER CONTROL SYSTEM
Technical Specification Sheet
ARCHITECT & ENGINEER’S SPECIFICATION General The wall mounting power controller shall include 12 contactor/ dimmer channels and 12 power distribution channels in a single chassis. Each contactor/dimmer channel shall contain both a dimmer and a pair of On and Off contactor-type elements - the appropriate element shall automatically operate depending on the selected channel mode and state. In addition to operating as switches, the contactors shall operate on channels configured as dimmers to reduce dimmer heat load at full and eliminate leakage current when dimmed off.
Electronics The power controller shall operate from a ANSI E1.11 DMX512A source. It shall also provide extensive support for ANSI E1.20 RDM. The user interface of the power controller shall include a high brightness 7 segment LED display. A high performance processor shall ensure the unit responds quickly to user selections and for control input changes. Slow responding devices shall not be accepted.
Electrical The wall mounting power controller shall operate from a threephase plus neutral and earth AC supply of between 200 and 240 VAC +/-10% phase-to-neutral with a frequency of between 45 and 63 Hz. Each channel shall be protected by an overcurrent thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. In addition RCD protection shall be provided for each phase. The dimmers shall match a control input to power output in a linear relationship. Each of the identical dimmer elements shall control loads from 25 to 2400 Watts, and utilise acoustically quiet toroidal chokes. Third-order active filters shall minimise the effect of mains-borne noise on the dimmer output. The wall mounting power controller shall be designed to operate in ambient temperatures up to 40°C using forced air cooling. The fan speed shall be temperature controlled so as to minimise fan noise, based on the internal heatsink temperature. For temperatures below 56°C fan speed shall increase with temperature; for temperatures above 56°C the fans shall run at full speed. As the temperature approaches the upper limit of 100°C the output levels shall be reduced; a full shutdown shall occur when the heatsink temperature reaches 100°C.
Mechanical
The primary construction of the power controller shall be folded sheet steel. All external metal surfaces shall be properly treated with a durable powder coat finish. The control surfaces shall be scratch-resistant polyester with legends printed from behind. The wall mounting power controller shall be factory tested using dedicated test jigs and software. The wall mounting power controller shall be the JANDS Hub SDP.

The wall mounting power controller shall be designed to be wall mounting and 250 (wide) x 155 (deep) x 1170mm (high). The design shall enable the installation of multiple adjacent units to increase the channel capacity if required. A matching patch system shall be available.
