Seattle Kings vs. Princes Match III August 26-30, 2016 Site: Seattle Chess Club Organizer: Josh Sinanan TD: Fred Kleist Format: Two Scheveningen-style matches, in which a team of 9 adults (Kings) will play against a team of 9 juniors (Princes). Each player will face one of the opposing team members once over the course of 9 rounds. The games will be dual USCF and FIDE rated. The aim of this event is to increase the number of Northwest players with established FIDE ratings and to support local junior players seeking experience in preparation for World Youth Competitions. Invited Players: Monarchs: Expert/Master (2000+ USCF) Sovereigns: Class A/B (1600-2000 USCF) Entry Fee: $150 – Cash prize $50 – Medal-only Time Control: Game in 100 minutes with a 30-second increment Schedule: Fri. 8/26: Check-in: 5:30pm, Rd 1: 6pm Sat. 8/27: Rd 2: 11am, Rd 3: 5pm Sun. 8/28: Rd 4: 11am, Rd 5: 5pm Mon. 8/29: Rd 6: 11am, Rd 7: 5pm Tue. 8/30: Rd 8: 11am, Rd 9: 5pm, Closing Ceremony: 9pm Prizes: Individual Prizes: 1st $450, 2nd $300, 3rd $200, 4th $150 for the top scoring Kings/Princes on each team. A $25 best played game prize will be awarded each round to a King or Prince in each section. Winning teams receive a complimentary ice cream party after the closing ceremony sponsored by WCF. Players who withdraw from the match will be ineligible to win prizes. Players competing for medal-only are ineligible to win cash prizes.
