Description: Closed circuit television (CCTV) system providing real-time and archival digital video surveillance and monitoring of station/terminal activities at points as indicated on Drawings. B. Capacity: Closed circuit television (CCTV) system that is expandable and upgradeable to accommodate future equipment additions, facility expansion and renovation. REFERENCES A. Supplier: Authorized distributor of specified manufacturer. C. Installer: Authorized installer of specified manufacturer with minimum ten years documented experience. PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS A. NICE Systems, Inc., “NiceVision NVR” Version 10.8 2. Substitutions: Submit requests for substitution in accordance with the General Provisions for Construction. 3. Description: The Real-Time Network Video Recording System (RT-NVRS) shall not utilize any multiplexing or time-division technology for IP video. 4. All video information supplied from all edge devices shall be real time encoded and transmitted over an IP network simultaneously at resolutions of up to 4CIF and recording rates of up to 30 Frames per second (fps) NTSC or 25 fps PAL per camera. 5. The RT-NVRS shall be capable of supporting Mega-Pixel cameras: 1.3MP, 2MP, 3MP and 5MP. 6. The RT-NVRS shall be based upon a fully modular architecture, which allows for upgrades for additional recording capacity in the future. 7. The system shall simultaneously display live, playback and record video while continuously recording onto the system’s Hard-Drive(s) and archiving to remote storage server. 8. Description: 48-port panel, Cat 5e, STD density, six-port modules, 19" x 10.5" PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Verify existing conditions prior to beginning work. B. Verify that outlet boxes for mounting cameras are installed at proper locations. C. Verify that branch circuit wiring installation is completed, tested, of proper voltage and operating characteristics, and ready for connection to CCTV equipment. Extend existing video surveillance installations using materials and methods as specified. C. Clean and repair existing video surveillance equipment remaining or to be reinstalled. GENERAL INSTALLATION A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and as indicated on the Contract drawings. B. Install cameras at locations and heights as indicated on the Contract drawings. Change type of mounting as necessary to achieve required clearance where approved in advance by NJT personnel. The camera views shall not be obstructed by any architecture, structural, or signage elements. C. Coordinate locations of outlet boxes specified in Section 16130 to obtain mounting heights as indicated on Contract drawings . D. Install cable and wire as specified in Section 16810. E. Set pan unit and pan-and-tilt unit stops to suit final camera position and to obtain the field of view required for camera in accordance with approved shop drawings and calculations. F. Install power supplies and other auxiliary components at control stations. Do not install such items near the devices they serve, unless otherwise indicated. G. Install equipment racks in accordance with ANSI/EIA 310 in locations shown on Contract drawings; arrange for adequate ventilation and access. Refer to Section 16811. H. Ground and bond CCTV system equipment in accordance with Section 16060 and TIA/EIA 607. I. Identify system components, wiring, cabling, and terminal connections. Refer to Section 16195. CONDUIT INSTALLATION: A. Supply and install new GRS conduit and associated hardware as indicated on the contract drawings. B. All new GRS conduit to be a minimum of 1” in diameter. C. New conduit shall be installed within 3’ of each CCTV location. The contractor shall provide and install liquid tight conduit and the necessary hardware from the end of the GRS conduit to camera housing. B. 3.6 (1) 48 Port Patch Panel (3) Power supply cable integrator hub (1) Midspan KVM Switch/Console NVR, Raid Units and encoders Supply and install the necessary number of 4-pair category 5e patch cord cables from the patch panel to the power supply cable integrator hub that will support the quantity of cameras shown on the contract drawings Supply and install the necessary number of 4-pair category 5e patch cord cables from the patch panel to the midspan and from the midspan to the network switch. Supply and install the necessary number of 4-pair category 5e patch cord cables from the NVR to the network switch. Install NVR as per NiceVision specifications for NVR installation. Contractor supply all necessary mounting hardware and shelves for proper installation of NVR. CAMERA INSTALLATION: A. The contractor shall use the design to determine the adequacy of the design and, in conjunction with a field survey and NJT personnel, determine the exact location of each CCTV camera. B. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and as indicated on the reference drawings. C. Install cameras at locations and heights as indicated on the Contract drawings. Change type of mounting as necessary to achieve required clearance where approved in advance by Engineer. D. Install camera, lens and video balun into each CCTV enclosure and configure per manufacturers instructions. E. Each camera shall have a single dedicated category 5e cable point-to-point without any splices from each camera to the station communication room patch panels. F. Within the camera housing terminate the category 5e cable with an RJ-45 connector in accordance with EIA/TIA 568B specifications and connect to video balun. G. Label cable at both camera and communication cabinet ends with camera designation number on drawing. H. Label (camera number), terminate and test all new Cat-5e cable to new cameras as shown on drawings. NPS Platform “E” Communications & Finishes Renovations 13750 - 8 Video Surveillance Systems 3.7 MANUFACTURER'S FIELD SERVICES A. 3.8 3.9 Furnish manufacturer’s field representative to supervise final wiring connections and system adjustments. ADJUSTING A. Align and adjust system and pretest components, wiring, and functions to verify that they comply with specified requirements. Adjust lens irises to meet lighting conditions. Replace malfunctioning or damaged items. Retest until satisfactory performance and conditions are achieved. B. Where system performance is degraded in certain operating modes, revise component connections and install video distribution amplifiers and/or attenuators as required to provide a balanced signal across the system. DEMONSTRATION AND TRAINING A. B. Furnish eight (8) hours of instruction each for up to ten (10) NJ TRANSIT staff, to be conducted at project site with manufacturer's representative. Coordinate training schedule with Construction Manager, Engineer and manufacturer. Provide minimum of ten (10) days notice prior to proposed commencement of training. Instruct NJ TRANSIT staff on how to adjust, operate, and maintain CCTV system equipment: 1. Review procedures and schedules for troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining equipment. 2. Demonstrate methods of determining optimum alignment and adjustment of components and settings for system controls. 3. Review data in maintenance manuals. PART 4 COMPENSATION 4.1 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT A. Measurement: The work of this section shall not be measured. B. Payment: The cost of this section shall be included in the lump sum bid item CCTV SYSTEMS, with separate pricing provided for LABOR and MATERIALS.
