SECURE TRANSCRIPT™ SET-UP GUIDE FOR WINDOWS® 2000/2003/XP To the software installer: This guide outlines the steps required to install the Secure Transcript Software. While this is a simple installation process, it should be performed by someone familiar with (and authorized to perform) software installations. Two steps are required to install and initialize Secure Transcript Services on your Windows 2000, 2003, or XP PC. Step One: Download the install software from the Secure Transcript Web site and install the Secure Transcript Client Application and the Docufide Print Driver on the PC where transcripts are printed (this is normally the Student Information System PC, but could also be a network print server). Step Two: ‘Print’ test transcripts using the Docufide Printer. Please note that, under Windows XP and Windows 2000/2003, you must log in to your PC with administrator privileges to install the Secure Transcript program and add the Docufide Printer. We recommend that you contact your Network Administrator for assistance during the installation. Step One: Download and Install the Secure Transcript Software a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. i. Open your Internet browser and go to the Docufide Web site (www.docufide.com). Log in using the email address and password of the primary user/registrar, and proceed to the Download Center Web page. Click (once) on the link “MS Windows Installer.” To begin the installation, click the “Open” button in the “File Download” window that appears. When the “Select startup mode” message appears, select “service” (default). When you see the message “Please enter the 5-digit ID and printer for your school,” enter the Docufide school ID number you received in your Welcome Email. Enter a name for the Docufide Virtual Printer. This can be any name (e.g., “Docufide”) that will identify the printer to the user that will be preparing student transcripts for uploading to Docufide. Click “Next.” On Windows 2000 systems: a “Digital Signature Not Found” window may appear. Click “Yes” to continue the installation. On Windows XP systems: a “Hardware Installation” window may appear. Click “Continue Anyway” to continue the installation. Installation will proceed, during which you may see a 20-30 second pause where no new messages are displayed on the screen. This is normal. After the installation summary information window is displayed, click “Next,” then click “Finish” to complete the installation. The client application should now be running on your system, indicated by a red padlock icon in the system tray at the lower right corner of your screen. The client program will automatically start whenever your computer is started. Step Two: Print Test Transcripts a. b. Open your Student Information System and then print a batch upload of all student records, grades 9-12 and the most recent year of alumni to the Docufide printer that was installed. In order to insure the accuracy of the transcripts delivered through Secure Transcript all transcripts must be in the same format and must include the birth date and the graduation date (where applicable) in an mm/dd/yy or mm/dd/yyyy format. Print the test transcripts the same way you normally would, except when you see your default printer in the “print” window, click on the drop down menu and select the “Docufide” printer. You are now ready to print to the Docufide printer. Within a few days, after the Docufide engineers have configured our system to process your transcripts, you will receive notification that your high school can begin to receive student orders through Secure Transcript. If you have any questions, please call Docufide at (310) 309-3722. Secure Transcript Set-Up Guide Page 1 of 1 Docufide, Inc. 1990 Bundy Drive Suite 300, Los Angeles, CA 90025 05/01/06 310.309.3722
