Security Analytics Storage Module
Cabling
Rack Installation
1
WARNING: The storage modules MUST be cabled exactly as shown: For 2-RAID-controller configurations, Module 1 must be connected directly to RAID Controller 1, Module 2 to RAID Controller 2, Module 3 to Module 1, and so on. The numbered stickers on each port indicate the corresponding port on the next module in the chain; for example, connect Port 1 on RAID Controller 1 to the Port 1 on Module 1, and Port 3 on Module 1 to Port 3 on Module 3. If you do not follow these instructions with exactness, you risk damaging the disk configuration, and a complete system reinitialization might be required to repair the damage.

1 RAID Controller
2 RAID Controllers
• Security Analytics storage enclosure • Two SAS cables • Two power cables • Bezel (optional) • Two mounting rails (optional)
Module 5
• RAID controller card (optional) • User documentation

Installing the Rails
Module 2
NOTE: Ensure that the screws are centered within the rack holes and tightened to the rack flange. Position the rail labeled R-FRONT facing inward and align the holes on the rail with the holes on the front of the vertical flange. Install two screws to secure the rail to the vertical flange [3]. Align the back end of the rail until the holes align with the corresponding holes on the back vertical flange. Install two screws to secure the rail to the vertical flange [4]. Repeat the steps for the other rail.

2G Appliance
Identify the Port and Group Numbering The SAS ports on the back of the storage modules are marked with a white, numbered sticker. The numbers indicate which SAS ports to cable to the next SAS port in the chain.
I/O Card Placement May Vary
Module 6
A blue sticker with a white number indicates the module’s group number. The module’s corresponding head unit has the same group number.

WARNING: This is a condensed reference. Read the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide, included with the product packaging, before you begin. WARNING: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the components inside the system. CAUTION: The rack kit is intended to be installed by trained service technicians in a rack that meets the specifications of American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/Electronic Industries Association (EIA) standard ANSI/EIA-310-D-92, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 297, and Deutsche Industrie Norm (DIN) 41494. One rack kit is required for each system that is installed in a rack. NOTE: Begin installing the rails in the allotted space that is closest to the bottom of the rack enclosure.
