Our CCTV video balun products allow full motion color or monochrome video transmission via cost effective UTP CAT 3 or better cable eliminating expensive and bulky coax cable. Porta Systems CCTV surge protectors provide superior protection against voltage spikes and current surges that can disable and permanently damage expensive video equipment, including cameras and recorders, resulting in loss of important information and reduced security. What Makes Porta Systems Balun Products Superior? Superior ProtectionPorta Systems offers two levels of protection on its balun products, those with differential mode protection, and those with both common and differential mode protection. Both of these options provide superior performance when compared to our competition. Ground Loop IsolationThose with both common and differential mode protection provide ground loop isolation. The surge suppressor semiconductors are configured in a "Y". Both differential lines are protected and tied to a common earth ground. Then an additional semiconductor from the common point to ground raises the ground potential to provide ground loop isolation. Superior PrecisionAll Porta Systems baluns are wound with bifilar wire; wire that is twisted pair of equal length. The bifilar winding technique is the most effective and precise means of providing accurately balanced output from a balun. Not only is the voltage potential on the output perfectly balanced, the inductance, resistance, and capacitance of the output are also precisely balanced. Porta Systems bifilar wound baluns provide near perfect mirror image symmetry, allowing the widest possible bandwidth with the least amount of signal attenuation.
