KTS-250-16 Video Distribution Amplifier This unit distributes up to 16 composite video signals to multiple isolated outputs. Its input/output channels are internally organized into eight pairs (see Figure 1). Figure 1. Input/Output pairs Each pair can be set to function in one of two modes: 2-input x 4-output, which distributes each video input to four outputs; or 1-input x 8-output, which distributes one video input to eight video outputs (see Figures 2 and 3). All of the unit’s input/output pairs are preset to be in the 2-input x 4-output mode. If you intend to use this product in 2-input x 4output mode, skip the section on Selecting Modes and proceed to Installation. Figure 4. Remove cover screws on top and bottom of unit 3) Locate the mode selector switches on the circuit board (see Figure 5). Note: When you are looking at the circuit board from the front, the mode selector switch on the far left controls input/output channels 15 and 16, and the mode selector switch on the far right controls input/output channels 1 and 2. 4) Slide each switch so that it lines up with the appropriate mode, 1 x 8 or 2 x 4 (See Figure 5). 5) Reinstall the cover and the cover screws. 1036614B / February 2003 Technical Support: 800-469-1676 1 KTS-250-16 Video Distribution Amplifier Installation Instructions Mode selector for channels 15 and 16 Mode selector for channels 11 and 12 Mode selector for channels 9 and 10 Mode selector for channels 13 and 14 Figure 5. Mode selector switches on the circuit board INSTALLATION WARNING: Use power supplies marked Class 2 or LPS (limited power source). Using an incorrect power supply can cause electric shock or fire. 1) Mount the unit in a 19-inch (490-mm) rack. 2) Connect the video input and output cables (see Figure 6). Note: It is not necessary to use all of the unit’s video inputs or outputs. 3) Supply power to the unit (see Figure 6). Video input cable Video output cables Power input Figure 6.
