Selection of Cable for CCTV application using Micro Power Brand SMPS 1. Use 3 core (ENL) cable for providing Input to SMPS. 2. For better picture quality use flexible coaxial cable between SMPS and camera. 3. Always connect +ve through copper core and GND connect through copper shield. 4. Similarly from output of camera to DVR use flexible coaxial cable. 5. Camera will give excellent result up to 100 meter cable length from SMPS to camera. 6. In case of blur image or image is flickering, adjust the output voltage of SMPS so that camera will get appropriate 12VDC. 7. Terminal voltage at camera after 100 meter cable length: A. For 12V output of SMPS: 9.4V i.e. Cable voltage drop is 2.6V B. For 15V output of SMPS: 12.2V i.e. Cable voltage drop is 2.8V. These voltage from can vary from cable to cable. 8. Always use low resistance cable to avoid power loss in cable. It will give excellent result. 9. Avoid inductive devises like tube light choke, pump, motor, florescent or sodium light near the cable between SMPS and Camera as also Camera and DVR. 10. Always use good quality cable.
