Connections at a Glance Important Information about Connecting Cellpro 4s Chargers to Power Supplies and Battery Packs Please read this sheet carefully to prevent the possibility of damaging your charger and/or batteries due to improper connections Power Supply might be AC wall powered or a single 12v car battery V Fuel=Lev% Chgr. Ready OUTPUT 10-16V INPUT Power Supply might be AC wall powered or a single 12v car battery + ADVANCED LITHIUM BATTERY CHARGER WITH CELL BALANCING TECHNOLOGY MODE 4A MAX CHARGE CURRENT AND FAST AUTO CHARGE MODES Power Supply 2 powers another Cellpro 4s charger Both chargers charge a single LiPo battery pack of 5s-8s MODE 1) Always connect the negative (black) power lead first 2) Always attempt a fast and solid connection when you connect the positive (red) power lead CAUTIONS: - Be sure no common ground exists. Use a continuity meter. This is the same thing as 2 individual battery packs wired together in series using the discharge wires. For example, if you put 2 4s packs together in series to make an 8s flight pack in the aircraft, this is the same thing as a single 8s battery pack to the chargers Additional Important Information about Connections: MODE ADVANCED LITHIUM BATTERY CHARGER WITH CELL BALANCING TECHNOLOGY 10-16V INPUT + V Fuel=Lev% Chgr. Ready LiPo Battery Pack 5s-8s Use the following procedure for connecting the Cellpro 4s charger to a power supply: TO P.C. Power Supply might be AC wall powered or a single 12v car battery Batt LiPo Both chargers charge a single LiPo battery pack of 5s-8s 4A MAX CHARGE CURRENT AND FAST AUTO CHARGE MODES Example 2 - Proper Connections Power Supply 1 powers one Cellpro 4s charger ADVANCED LITHIUM BATTERY CHARGER WITH CELL BALANCING TECHNOLOGY - 4A MAX CHARGE CURRENT AND FAST AUTO CHARGE MODES NO DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO CHARGERS OR BATTERY PACKS 4A MAX CHARGE CURRENT AND FAST AUTO CHARGE MODES 10-16V INPUT 10-16V INPUT + ADVANCED LITHIUM BATTERY CHARGER WITH CELL BALANCING TECHNOLOGY Common Ground is supplied to each charger by means of the chargers’ Inputs - TO P.C. NO DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO CHARGERS OR BATTERY PACKS Example 3 - Improper Connections MODE Example 1 - Proper Connections - LiPo Battery Pack 5s-8s This is the same thing as 2 individual battery packs wired together in series using the discharge wires. For example, if you put 2 4s packs together in series to make an 8s flight pack in the aircraft, this is the same thing as a single 8s battery pack to the chargers 4A MAX CHARGE CURRENT AND FAST AUTO CHARGE MODES CAUTION: Be sure to check whether your power supply enclosure is connected to DC ground. In this event, never allow the power supply enclosures to come into contact or allow them to touch the Cellpro 4s charger cases. Also, never allow the Cellpro 4s charger cases to come in contact with one another. Damage will result to the chargers and the battery packs. Never allow the discharge wires or any connector contacts from the battery pack to come into contact with any part of the Cellpro 4s charger enclosure. This will create a direct short between the battery pack ground and charger ground which are not the same thing. The charger will be damaged. Never allow the enclosures of multiple chargers to come into contact with one another or with power supply enclosures. If you use multiple power supplies, never allow the enclosures of the power supplies to come in contact with one another. Always make sure the power supply is rated for the full power of the Cellpro 4s charger which is 10v (min), 12v (preferred), 50 watts.
