Technology: The IPAS425 is the next step in printer applications. It makes use of HP’s latest printer technologies and is unique in its sophisticated print quality and tremendous versatility. The technique has been refined to such an extent that it really can’t be called an inkjet any more. Compared with other printers, this is by far the most user-friendly that has ever been developed. And what’s more, one that’s kind to the environment: the ink contains no solvents so it’s absolutely harmless. Additionally, the printer requires very little maintenance. So the downtime, costs of use, and service costs are unbelievably low. The IPAS425 offers laser print quality with modifiable resolutions from 150 up to 1200 dpi, for applications using different materials on rolls, loose-leaf or as continuous forms. Due to its enormous processing capability, high speeds are attainable, which can easily be increased by defining lower print qualities that are still unique. The large print format with print heights of between 4,25 inches and 17 inches makes it possible to use the printer both before the postprocessing and during it. The printer can easily be used either in series or fully standalone. The user-friendly software has been developed in-house and enables you to send the printer the right instructions with just a few mouse-clicks. And the software makes document layout simple. The wide range of possibilities of the versatile printer combined with the simple-to-use software makes the IPAS425 a unique product. The printer has five print heads which are equipped with an automatic cleaning system. Immediately after being used, the print heads are sealed. So there’s no cleaning required and the printer is always ready to use. And the extra large, easily replaceable cartridges ensure that little precious time is lost in maintenance. As a result of the ingenious system design and through the use of reliable HP technologies, the IPAS425 has already proven itself to be extremely reliable with minimum downtime and negligible maintenance costs. Elements: Fixed Imager Controller (FIC)
The Imager Controller subsystem encloses and protects the electronics and is designed for either floor or rack mounting. The Imager Controller performs these functions: • Receives data for printing via the Gigabit LAN port • Receives commands and transmits status information to OEM master controller/print server • Regulates DC power for the Imager Controller, Ink Delivery System and Imaging Module • Processes incoming data for the print heads. Receives media-position feedback signals for image control (encoder and top of form) • Controls the service-station and imaging-module motors
Imaging Module (IM)
The Imaging Module (IM) has two subsystems: the imaging head and the service station. The imaging head subassembly provides data and control for the five replaceable print heads. It includes the print heads, backplane printed circuit assembly (PCA) and carriage PCA. The service-station subassembly uses the print head cleaners to automatically maintain the print heads in optimal printing condition.
Ink Delivery System (IDS)
The Ink Delivery System (IDS), with 6-meter tubing, stores and controls two 775 ml bulk ink cartridges, which operate serially and can be autoswitched. The bulk-ink cartridges are contained in a single enclosure. IDS functions: • Delivers ink to the print heads • Performs ink-level sensing
