REASON To lower the APU generator current limit to improve the reliability of the starter/generator. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides the parts and instructions necessary to replace the 6918630-16, 6918630-26, 6918630-31, 6918630-36, and 6918630-49 APU Control PCB Assembly (NZ204). COMPLIANCE RECOMMENDED. This service bulletin should be accomplished at a scheduled maintenance period or phase inspection. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as “completed” in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1)
The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein.
2)
The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts.
3)
The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published.
4)
The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the “Effectivity” section of the bulletin.
5)
The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations.
No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A.
Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position.
B.
Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
C. 2.
(1)
Disconnect the airplane batteries.
(2)
Disconnect external electrical power.
Attach maintenance warning tags to the batteries and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" on them.
(For airplanes -0001 thru -0309) Remove the 6918630-16, 6918630-26, 6918630-31, 6918630-36, or 6918630-49 APU Control PCB Assembly (NZ204). A.
Open the aft baggage compartment.
B.
Remove panel 311ABC. (Refer to the Model 680 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description And Operation.)
C.
Remove the cover from the right aft power junction box. (1)

Unlock the DZUS fasteners that secure the cover to the right aft power junction box.
D.
Remove the four screws that secure the cover to the right PCB board box.
E.
(Refer to Figure 1, Detail B.) Remove the 6918630-16, 6918630-26, 6918630-31, 6918630-36, or 6918630-49 APU Control PCB Assembly (NZ204). (Refer to the Model 680 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Electrostatic Discharge Components - Maintenance Practices.)
(For airplanes -0001 thru -0274 that have not complied with SB680-26-02 Fire Protection - Baggage Fire Bottle Suppression Switch Improvement.)(Refer to Figure 2, Sheet 1.) Do the wiring modification. NOTE: Airplanes -0001 thru -0274 that have incorporated SB680-26-02 Fire Protection - Baggage Fire Bottle Suppression Switch Improvement do not need to install the relay or do the wiring modification. A.
(Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Install the M83536/9-024 Relay and SME210-2001 Relay Socket.
B.
(Refer to Figure 2, Sheet 1.) Do the wiring modification.

(For airplanes -0001 thru -0274 that have complied with SB680-26-02 Fire Protection - Baggage Fire Bottle Suppression Switch Improvement and airplanes -0275 thru -0309)(Refer to Figure 2, Sheet 2.) Do the wiring modification.
5.
Install the 6968012-7 APU Control PCB Assembly. A.
(Refer to Figure 1, View A-A.) Install the 6968012-7 APU Control PCB Assembly. (Refer to the Model 680 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Electrostatic Discharge Components - Maintenance Practices.)
B.
Install the four screws that secure the cover to the PCB board box.

Install the aft power junction box cover. (1)
D.
Lock the DZUS fasteners that secure the cover to the aft power junction box.
Install panel 311ABC. (Refer to the Model 680 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description And Operation.)
6.
Remove the maintenance warning tags.
7.
(For Airplanes -0001 thru -0274 that have not complied with SB680-26-02) Move the airplane to an approved area so that the APU may be operated.
WARNING: A.
Make sure airplane power is off and the batteries are not connected.
B.
Disconnect connectors PT062 and PT078 from the HDR fire bottle (UT024) located in the tailcone.
C.
Disconnect connectors PN021 and PN023 from the MDR fire bottle (UN002) located in the nose.
D.
Reconnect the batteries and power on the aircraft.
E.
Start the APU. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual for the starting and shutdown procedures.)
F.
Disconnect PT060/JT060 and place a jumper wire between pins CPT060 and APT060. (1)
G.
Make sure that the APU shuts down.
Power down the aircraft and disconnect the batteries. (1)
Remove the jumper wire and connect PT060/JT060.
H.
Connect the batteries and power up the aircraft.
I.
Start the APU. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual for the starting and shutdown procedures.)
J.
Disengage circuit breaker HF013 (APU Fire Detect) in the right circuit breaker panel. (1)

FAILURE TO DISCONNECT CONNECTORS PT062, PT078, PN021, AND PN023 FROM THE HDR (UT024) AND MDR (UN002) FIRE BOTTLES CAN CAUSE THE FIRE BOTTLES TO DISCHARGE DURING TESTING.
Make sure that the APU shuts down.
K.
Power down the aircraft and disconnect the batteries.
L.
Engage circuit breaker HF013 (APU Fire Detect) in the right CB panel.
M.
Connect PT062 and PT078 to the HDR fire bottle (UT024).
N.
Connect PN021 and PN023 to the MDR fire bottle (UN002).
O.
Connect the batteries and power up the aircraft.
P.
Start the APU. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual for the starting and shutdown procedures.)
Q.
Make sure that the APU generator is operating correctly. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual.)
R.
Make sure the APU generator amps do not exceed 300 amps during a main engine start. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual.)
(For all Airplanes -0001 thru -0274 that have complied with SB680-26-02 and airplanes -0275 thru -309) Move the airplane to an approved area to do an APU start. A.
Connect the batteries and power up the aircraft.
B.
Start the APU. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual for the starting and shutdown procedures.)

Make sure that the APU generator is operating correctly. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual.)
D.
Make sure the APU generator amps do not exceed 300 amps during a main engine start. (Refer to the Model 680 Approved Flight Manual.)
Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A.
Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report.
B.
Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook.
C.
