Setup Guide — IN3252HR The Extron® IN3252HR is an ultra-high resolution RGBHV video distribution amplifier with gain and peaking controls. It accepts RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB, RsGsBs, Component, S-video, as well as high resolution monochrome video and composite video baseband signals, and distributes the signals to two separately buffered outputs and one passive loop-through. 5 a Power 1 connector b Video Output 3 2 2 connectors c Input/Loop-thru connectors 3 d Gain controls e Peaking control IN3252HR RGBHV DISTRIBUTION AMPLIFIER 4 Figure 1 – IN3252HR connectors and controls Installation The IN3252HR can be placed on a desktop or shelf, or mounted in a convenient location using the IN9128 optional mounting brackets (part number 70-490-01). C Installation and service must be performed by authorized personnel only. Step 1 — Power Off Turn off all equipment and ensure that the source device, the DA, and the output devices have been disconnected from the power source. Step 2 — Connect Inputs Connect the video signal source (input) device to the input connectors (c). Step 3 — Connect Outputs Connect the output devices to the output connectors (b). Step 4 — Power On Connect the power supply cord of the output devices, the DA, and the source device to a 100 to 240 VAC power source, then power on the devices and the DA. C Always use a power supply specified by Extron. Use of an unauthorized power supply voids all regulatory compliance certification and may cause damage to the supply and the end product. Unless otherwise stated, the AC/DC adapters are not suitable for use in air handling spaces or in wall cavities. The installation must always be in accordance with applicable provisions of National Electrical ANSI/NFPA 70, article 75 and the Canadian, Electrical Code part 1, section 16. The power supply shall not be permanently fixed to building structure or similar structure. Step 5 — Set Gain / Peaking Adjust gain and peaking as needed (d, e). (Continued on reverse side) Setup Guide — IN3252HR (cont’d) Internal Jumper Settings Input termination jumpers (J2, J3, and J5) In normal operation (factory default), the inputs are terminated internally. To provide a passive loop-through signal for a local monitor or extended DA system with 75 ohm input impedance, jumpers J2, J3, and J5 must be changed from closed to open (see figures 2 and 3). Configuration J2 J1 J4 J6 AC coupling Open Open Open DC coupling Closed* Closed* Closed* Input is terminated to 75 ohms (loop-through not used)* Input is unterminated (High Z) (loop-through connected to a local monitor or another amplifier) J3 J5 Closed* Closed* Closed* Open Open Open *Factory default settings Figure 2 – Jumper table Input coupling jumpers (J1, J4, and J6) To insure the best picture quality, inputs are DC coupled as a factory default. If the source device has a high DC offset that causes picture distortion or instability, change the jumpers to AC coupling (see figures 2 and 3). Figure 3 – Board view of jumpers Troubleshooting If image does not appear or is not correctly displayed, ensure all devices are plugged in and receiving power. Check input and output cabling and make adjustments as needed. Refer to the IN3252HR Users Guide for more information. N If problems persist, contact Extron Service Department.
