February 2017 Issue 38 SewerSerpent® Testing at Byron Bay After a comprehensive testing in Yarra Valley with over 18 tests in 4 days, SewerSerpent® field testing was moved to the sunny coast of Byron Bay where testing was carried out with the assistance of Mike Frost of Drain Pipe King. The climate in Byron Bay was very different compared to the Yarra Valley, with hot, windy and humid conditions in the test locations. Tests were carried out overs 3 days in 3 locations. A total of 15 tests were done during this trip. In summary, Mike Frost of Drain Pipe Kings said, "The SewerSerpent225® is a very well made product that finds leaks in sewer and stormwater pipework that are not able to be found by CCTV inspections. The system is very user-friendly and built to withstand the rigours of use in all field conditions, the pushrod is high quality and performs better than many other pushrods I have used on camera systems." SewerBatt Tackles Tree Root Intrusion Overflows caused by sewer blockages represent one of the key challenges to Australian urban water utilities, with tree-root intrusion representing the major blockage problem SewerBatt™ provides a rapid and easy way to provide data for preventative programs. Using just one operator, the SewerBatt™ system can rapidly complete a scan on several kilometres of pipeline in a day. The “clear” pipeline can be identified so costly CCTVinspection resources are not required for these pipes.
