Napkin ring:
For best results, apply fusible interfacing to both linen and lining and use a layer of INSPIRA™ Tear-A-Way stabilizer when you decorate your napkin ring. Sew a decorative stitch along the long side of the linen strip. Remember the stitching has to be within the seam allowance. (Illustration 1) Use your marking pen to mark placement of the ribbon, leaving space on the short end for the button and the buttonhole. Also leave space in the center where the rose will be positioned. Snap on the braiding foot and slide the ribbon through guide in the foot. Sew along your marking. (Illustration 2) 1

Snap on your piping foot. Wrap bias fabric around cord and place under the presser foot with seam allowance to the right of the cord. Stitch close to cording to make your custom piping. (Illustration 3) For more information how to sew piping, refer to your user’s guide. Attach the piping to both of the long sides of the linen strip. Tip: adjust the needle position to the left one step to cover the first seam. Sew on a button, then place lining and embellished linen strip right sides together and stitch around three sides; leave one short side open. (Illustration 4) Turn right side out. For a neater seam allowance, pull a small piece of cord from your piping and trim. (Illustration 5) Make a hidden seam around the opening by hand. Press. Sew a buttonhole. Rose:
Use different kind of ribbon to make the rose. The only limit is your imagination. Buy colored ribbons or cut pieces of cloth. Use the gathering foot to gather your ribbon. Select left needle position straight stitch. Adjust the stitch length 3-6 (EDEN ROSE™ 250C) or 3-4 (EDEN ROSE™ 250M) (Illustration 6) The longer the stitch, the more gathers there will be. If you plan to use more than one ribbon, we recommend gathering one at a time and then stitching them together before you start shaping your rose. (Illustration 7)

Cut a small circle of thick felt to create a base for your rose. Draw a spiral line as a guide, showing where to attach your ribbon. (Illustration 8) Attach the gathered ribbon with a straight stitch working from the outside towards the center of the flower. Stitch the rows quite close together so the base cannot be seen through them. Use a pair of tweezers to pull the ribbon into the middle. (Illustration 9) Start and finish the flower by folding back the ends of the ribbon so they are not visible.
