Short Information Selecting the right thermal paper The color processing in thermal printing is generated in the coating itself, making the thermal paper part of the printing system and decisively affecting the overall result. The wrong thermal paper or one of minor quality can damage a printer within a short period of time. Only specified papers guarantee that the indicated life time is to be achieved.

Label Specification – Selecting the right thermal paper
Short Description of the released topcoat thermal paper General The released label paper with back barrier is a thermal paper consisting of an undercoat, a thermo coat and a top coat. The coat covers the paper against external influences from the frontside. From the backside, the back barrier avoids that e.g. clue or softening agents reacting with the paper. Shelf life before and after thermo print Storing the label paper at a constant temperature of 23 ± 5 °C at 50 ± 10% humidity, the shelf life is up to 10 years before usage and up to 12 years archivability after print. The paper must be protected against intensive solar radiation and day light, as well as exposure to chemical fumes. Print and application testing Perform a printout test to verify the usability of the selected paper.

Hint: During the print process, little amounts of adhesive can escape from the label paper. This can stick down to the printer mechanism. Therefore regularly cleaning of the printhead is highly recommended (detailed description see operation manual).
