Sica B-series has been developed combining the over 35 years of experience of our R&D Department, with new improvements in large signal loudspeaker measurement system, the technical support from our major customers and passion of our friends musicans. Each model represents the best compromise between acoustis, technical and applied performances. No doubt the B-series is already a referens point for the industri of bass-cabinets manufacturers. B-series´ strengths are •
die-cast aluminium basket with very thin brackets, to avoid sound waves reflections on the rear side of the cone
•
basket with loopholes below the spider, for fast cooling of the air moved by the voice coil, with consequent cooling of the voice coil itself
•
neodymium magnet cirquit that , besides the obvious reduction in weight, thanks to the magnet mounted inside the voice coil, makesthe performance of the voice coil dynamic and fully symmetric. This allows a better interface with the power amplifier.
•
magnet cirquit with heat-sink rims, for voice coil ventilation with consequent dissipation of heat and reduction of power compression.
•
flat spider, for perfect symmetric movement and constant mechanical compliance even at high excursions
•
cone suspension with asymmetrical waves, to compensate the lack of linearity of the excursion.
•
wide area of overlapped glue surface between the suspension and the cone, for a sandwich effect able to greatly reduce the cone break up
•
both voice coil and cone feature decompression holes, to eliminate the pneumatic compression usually present in the speakers with great excursions
•
cone finished with waterproof and damping paint, to protect the cone from moistore but also to dampen its vibrations at mid-high frequencies
•
65mm voice coil, to handle massive power but also to allow for low temperature of the coil wire during intensive use. The nominal impedance will remain constant avoiding power compression.
The foresaid innovations lead to speakers that
1. are capapable of great excursions (therefore generating high SPL at low frequencies), without pneumatic compression The sound does not change at increases in SPL: a main issue for all the Bass Amplifier speakers available so far.
2. are capable of working at very high SPL for long periods of time and without power compression. The performer will notice that his cabinet is not producing less SPL after few minutes of heavy duty work. Our attention to both dynamich performance and proper balance of all the electro-magnetic parameters leads to speakers that generate deep low frequencies with absolutely unprecedented levels of distortion, also at very high SPL. That is ”very high dynamics” as required by bass guitar amplifiers. The 50% reduction in weight leads to light systems in accordance with the current market requirements. ___________________________________________________________________________________

Rated power measured with 2 hours testwith pink noise signal, 6 dB crest factor, loudspeaker mounted on enclosure. Thiele-Small parameters measured with LASER system. Xmax is calculated as: (Hvc-Hg)/2 + Hg/4 where Hvc is the coil depth and Hg is the gap depth.
